Here in mid-winter, I recall one summer Solstice week of little miracles and amazing synchronicities that affirmed the ever-present Power within and around us, regardless of how life appears to be going at the moment:
While housesitting in another town, I saw a woman in Whole Foods wearing a beautiful sleeveless summer dress, sprinkled with stars, in all my favorite colors. I spontaneously went up to her and said, "I love your dress!" Whereupon, to my astonishment, she promptly offered to mail it to me if I gave her my address. READ THE REST!

Untying the "Nots"
By untying its knots."
~ Jean Toomer, novelist and poet
"Surrender, Dorothy!"
This is one of the more memorable lines from the movie classic, The Wizard of Oz, writ large across the sky by the Wicked Witch of the West.
Surrender is also one of the more misunderstood stages of the spiritual journey. It doesn't mean to give up or give in, but to open to something beyond; to acknowledge, honor, and allow the energy that moves through us free reign. It's about letting go of what you know, how it "ought" to be, what you think you should do now. Instead of relinquishing your freedom, I envision surrender as more of a "Yield Right of Way" sign. The one you're yielding to is your own higher Self. READ THE REST!

Soulquake
When the magnitude 9.0 earthquake rocked Indonesia five years ago, the full moon was in Cancer, an intensely emotional water sign. The quake struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean, unleashing a tsunami that obliterated more than 220,000 lives and left more than five million homeless. It also permanently reconfigured southern Asia's geography. The massive quake in Haiti this week is a comparable wake-up call in terms of the devastation.
The Shift of the Ages is, quite literally, upon us.
From a meta-perspective, these cataclysms might be seen as fierce messages from the Mother that we humans are merely playing at being powerful when we play with firepower — and it's time to reimagine our rage, at the elemental level. As with 9-1-1 in the U.S.A., what is happening affects everyone. The Haitian soulquake is the latest call to open ourselves to love, compassion, harmony and healing as never before — and to detach from our drama/trauma. We always do this in an emergency. Can we emerge and see the grander picture? READ THE REST!

Becoming REAL
In recent years many of us have felt like stand-ins in our own lives: understudies playing a role on short notice while we waited for our "real" selves to return. We've been in dress rehearsal for the quickening, and it's been a flume ride of the highest order.
The good news is that density is transmuting into destiny faster than we can say "anagram". The world stage is welcoming us as the human holons we are, stepping up to the plate and into our soul missions as never before. READ THE REST!

The Heart of the Matter
We've entered a quantum realm, where mainstream "realities" of force and fear seem more and more illusory, while living in the flow and in the know feels real. The mental, hierarchical structures and strictures are dissolving, although it doesn't always look that way! Embracing the matrix is key. How do we do this?
In Urgent Message from Mother: Gather the Women, Save the World, Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD, reminds us that the words matter, matrix and material all come from the Latin word for womb, "mater," which means mother. She also uses the evocative phrase, "speaking truth to power."
Reading Bolen's eloquent call to action, I suddenly remembered a play I saw years ago, Mother Wove the Morning. During my own pilgrimage to consciousness, I realized how profoundly I yearned to nestle into the nurturing archetypal arms of the Great Mother. I found her in trees, in our animal kin, in metaphysical bookstores and sacred ceremony, and in the wisdom of those who had gone before me and could give a name to this longing. READ THE REST!
