The GaiaField Awakens

On the Autumnal Equinox, September 21st, you're invited to participate in a unique global ritual in honor of the International Day of Peace. From 3:30-4:30 pm GMT, groups will gather in Auroville (India), the Findhorn Community (Scotland), and the California Institute of Integral Studies (USA) for a sacred ceremony that will be linked via state-of-the art video and audio communication technologies. The ceremony will also be broadcast live over the Internet to a global audience.

The vision of this "GaiaField" of meditation and prayer is to unite hundreds of thousands for peace and prayer events. David Nicol, director of the GaiaField Project, describes the mission this way:

"Many of us intuitively recognize the power of uniting millions of people from diverse spiritual traditions around the globe in meditation and prayer for peace. Several well-organized global meditation and prayer events, such as the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, the GaiaMind meditation of 1997, James Twyman's 'Great Experiments' and the annual International Day of Peace Vigil have involved hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people. Numerous research studies have documented consistent, significant correlations between the presence of large groups of meditators and improvements in social indicators such as crime rates, war deaths, and terrorist activity. Many spiritual leaders and visionary thinkers have hypothesized that these global rituals for peace may accelerate the emergence of a unified global consciousness.

The vision of the GaiaField Project is to support the emergence of a large, resilient, multi-hub network of spiritual leaders and their constituencies who will regularly participate in and co-create large-scale global meditation and prayer vigils. Our aim is not so much to set up another new global meditation network, but to facilitate the sharing of information and resources between the many existing networks which share the goal of bringing together hundreds of thousands of people in meditation or prayer for world peace."

The GaiaField Project is currently a joint project of the California Institute of Integral Studies and Wisdom Mountain, both of which are non-profit organizations based in Northern California.

The Charge of the Light Brigade

Often in these evolutionary end days of life behind the veil, I've discovered that what I thought was a circumstance uniquely mine is, in truth, a symptom and symbol of what's happening energetically on a grand scale.

For instance: my cell phone has not been holding its "charge" lately. For at least a month, maybe two, it seems to lose juice almost as soon as I take it off the charger, or make a single call. Since I spent much of the summer camping on Mt. Shasta, a powerful energy vortex, I assumed the mountain was affecting electrical devices.

Except...a client in Minnesota reported her cell phone is behaving similarly strangely...and just this morning, a new friend in Ashland, Oregon, whose spare bedroom I'm staying in temporarily, said, "I need to charge my cell phone again...it doesn't seem to be holding its charge."

Extrapolating from my small sample size of three, lightkeepers all, I mused: perhaps this has to do with releasing the "charge" we all tend to carry around various issues, people and circumstances in our lives...and accepting our charge as midwives of the Light, so that we can most effectively convert energy! Reframing/renaming the phenomenon in this light just now gave me a real charge...

Blessings, dear travelers on the path Home to the One Heart.

Commemorating 9-1-1

On the fifth anniversary of the World Trade Center attack that has become known as 9/11, but that I prefer to call 9-1-1 in recognition of the "state of emerge-and-see" it heralded worldwide, I'm republishing the post I sent out to my global e-list that afternoon. We've come a long way as a global family since then, growing in awareness, courage, love and unity...as the evolutionary energy continues roiling everywhere, let us hold high the lamp, my friends. We are on our way Home!

~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

This IS A Test!

Dear Ones,

We are six days from September 17th, a date heralded as being an opportunity for planetary initiation. An initiatory crisis, personal or global, catapults us out of our prior way of life in an instant, and demands a creative response born of trust in the process. Crisis actually means "turning point," as well as opportunity. So while this morning's air attacks on key U.S. "nerve centers" (the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon) surprise me only in terms of form, the actions themselves were, in a sense, predictable. It was only a matter of when. The time is NOW. The question is, how will we (the United States, and the world) respond?

I believe it was Einstein who said, you can not solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it. From stunned pain, shock and anger, the instinctive response is retaliation. The first person I talked with today, upon hearing the news, spoke of hoping the President would threaten a nuclear attack. This would clearly be the end of life as we know it.

Later, as I listened to reports on radio, I was struck once again by how rapidly people always pull together in an emergency to help one another. Tragedy is a great leveler. We all do need to come together, not to fight a common enemy (which is within) but to begin creating the Global Community we've been inching towards for decades. It's a spiritual emergency, as we emerge from the cocoon of complacency, the old paradigm, into a courageous new world.

We must now choose to go beyond the old, reptilian, limbic brain (the same impulse that drives materialism, separation, self-interest, and misuse of power) into the higher realms of consciousness, where love, wisdom and power are synthesized into service. This is a test of the highest order. It's not about who's at fault, who orchestrated the attacks, or whether we should now place sanctions against the Middle East or other groups. It's about recognizing this attack for what it is: a colossal wake-up call.

This event is a volcanic eruption, and in hindsight, the rumblings many of us have been experiencing the past few weeks presaged it. Several players on the path have been sharing stories of total strangers (as well as of acquaintances and friends) suddenly, savagely and inexplicably dumping truckloads of mental trash on them. Everyone has been feeling "the quickening" of these end times, but, since we're at different stages in our growth, those who have no context for what they're experiencing also don't know what to do with these volatile energies. The anger's been leaking out, and finally, here's the explosion.

It is, in a very real sense, a planetary birth process. Something old has to die in order for the new to emerge. Please understand, I am not in the least condoning the tremendous loss of lives or the tragedy itself, yet I do feel that some major catastrophe to serve as a worldwide summons to awareness was cued to occur. It also took place on a Tuesday, which correlates astrologically with Mars, the God of war. We are all learning how to transform the war within ourselves into spiritual warriorhood.

It is interesting that the attack on the Pentagon made it impossible for U.S. officials to meet in the Department of Defense, the War Room. Our old defenses have been dismantled, big time and instantly.

Consider, too, that the Pentagon is a five-sided structure. There's a lot of power in five, which configures a star. The number five, as the center of the Native American medicine wheel, signifies the place of transformational possibilities. Five symbolizes access to the Spirit world in the Mayan tradition. It is a unifying element in Tibetan culture. The Greeks called the fifth element quinta essentia, the pure and concentrated essence, or invisible connector that allows earth, fire, water and air to communicate. Five is, cross-culturally, a centering and balancing element. Think of the alchemical phoenix that could arise from this apparent tragedy…

The 13th century Sufi mystic Rumi wrote, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there's a field. I'll meet you there." This is the field of higher mind, of creative possibility, of the One Love. The moment is now. This is a call to conscious unity. Sisters and Brothers of the Light, please join me.

May this Invocation, sent out from World Goodwill in New York City to commemorate World Invocation Day, June 5, 2001, inspire and support you now. Many blessings and much love to you all, Amara.

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into human minds.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into human hearts.
May the Coming One return to Earth.

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide all little human wills—
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the center which we call the human race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Health, Wealth 'n' Wisdom for the World!

Thanks to Jean Hudon of the Earth Rainbow Network, I've just discovered the first international anthem for the world. The flash movie of Matthew Levine's song is quite moving and eloquent. I once heard about a so-called "primitive" culture that sings its way across borders; perhaps we can learn from them.

Intensity, Anyone?

Aluna Joy Yaxk'in expresses the way I (and I'm sure you!) are feeling these extraordinary transition daze, adapting the lyrics of an old R.E.M. tune: "It's the end of the world as we know it...and we are fine!" In her current Center of the Sun newsletter, she describes the weird physical symptoms I've been experiencing (stomach gurglings and poor digestion, searing headaches that don't, thankfully, turn into the flu) as part of our collective clearing process in order to hold a greater degree of light.

It's heartening to remember these changes aren't necessarily about me! As Aluna writes, "There is a sanity in knowing that what we go through as sensitives is not personal, but planetary. Our gifts as sensitives can be a great gift and also a huge challenge. These days it feels like a little of both."

All the posts I'm receiving now point to September as a time of huge escalation. Aluna's Star Elders say the Great Shift predicted to begin in 2008 in fact started 9/5 (the day my symptoms began). It's wonderful to be "ahead of schedule" (although the calendar is just a linear time construct, anyway); what it means in terms of our lives is that we're being called to live our highest truth more strongly than ever before, to walk our talk in the face of all the duality trying to pull us back down to "Earth". Gaia is one with us in this acceleration; I put "Earth" in quotes as a reference to the mass media and other 3-D "realities" that tell us how things ARE -- NOT!!

Other lightkeepers concur. Renowned "angel lady" Doreen Virtue has been guided to facilitate a day of angel workshops and teachings about angelic healing on September 10, just prior to the 5th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon in the US. The angels want a focus on light instead of dark, and a focus on love instead of fear.

Barbara Wolf is calling on us to turn the Lights back on, on September 11th. Her invocation:

Let us turn on the lights again.

Let us overlay positive energies on the negative.
Let us join together to make our own positive reality.

You and you and you and you are Divine Beings.
We are all Divine Beings.

On September 11, throughout the entire day, let us be mindful of this. Let us silently say to all,
YOU ARE A DIVINE BEING.

And Maggie Erotokritou, coordinator of the Planetary Awakening Network, delineates some of the celestial tuning up that's taking place as a backdrop to the above:

• Full Moon/lunar eclipse in Pisces on Thursday, September 7th, calling us to immerse our physical and energetic beings in water, water, water (I have been camping on Mt. Shasta in far northern California for most of the summer, and with all the fires in surrounding counties, I'm feeling dry, dry, dry!)

Maggie says, "Water is connected to emotions and full moon and eclipses bring everything to the surface, and there seem to be a lot of emotions bubbling up at the moment. So over the next few days just a reminder to drink lots of water and to spend some time close to water, be it a lake or the sea or a waterfall, whatever happens to be within your vicinity if you can. Heavy stuff is coming up and water will help to clear the next layer of residue."

• New Moon/solar eclipse in Virgo on the Equinox, September 22. "Some astrologers have described the first eclipse as the 'mean' one and the second one as the 'friendly' one, by which time things will be settling down. So take heed, the eclipses will bring you face to face with your life, and many people will be rethinking what they truly want to do with their lives at this time. This introspective and reflective period will continue through the first three weeks of the month, so this would be a good time to think about what you really want and what you want to put your attention on. Remember, what you put your attention on becomes energized. Everything is changing, and so are the rules. You have the choice to play the game in a different way."

Looking In the Mirror With Love

Hot on the heels of my latest e-newsletter, focusing this month on the primal link between peace and the environment, and how we can "midwife the obvious truth" with one another, comes word of a global conference on Engaging the Other through the power of compassion.

The Common Bond Institute (CBI) holds as its mission, "Cultivating the fundamental elements of a consciousness of peace, and local capacity building...enabling each society to effectively resolve and transform conflicts, satisfy core human needs within their communities, and construct effective, holistic mechanisms for self determination, self esteem, and fundamental human dignity." Wow! Sounds like it will be an extraordinary conference: clear your calendar for 4 days in Michigan at the end of October.

I also received an e-mail from What Shines subscriber Dennis Farley, who found explanation of the Iroquois consensus-creating process illuminating. Dennis shared,

"Nice post. I especially like: ". . . in the tribal council tradition, participants simply talk until there is nothing left but 'the
obvious truth.' It's a bit like boiling sugar down to syrup, or an oyster spinning a pearl from the irritating grain of sand in its shell."

Back in '91 during the 1st Gulf War I was an associate producer for the World Peace Prayer Ceremony in Amenia, NY. We invited the keeper of the pipe (a 5000-year-old pipe, so they say), a Medicine Man from the Sioux Nation, to perform the peace pipe ceremony. Before passing the pipe around the circle (well actually he carried the pipe around the circle, never letting go), he would essentially point it at each person in the circle before moving on, although he held it to my forehead for a moment, before taking it to the person next to me . . . Before taking the pipe around the circle he spoke for a long, long time in what may have seemed like a series of non-sequitors, and I was thinking or meditating on the process, trying to fathom this 'talk.' For awhile I thought he might be channeling each one of us in some random way, shaping each spirit as best he could into stories and paragraphs and words. In that sense it made a kind of sense, but after reading your newsletter it brought it into more focus. Quite unlike the Madison Avenue speak that we have come to take as everyday fare, and substitute for the truth or even an attempt at it approximating the truth, as if it could be found alone in words . . . I mean even the word 'truth', is so relative that it is both meaningless and staring us in the face at the same time. So, thanks for that insight . . . talk until there's nothing left but 'the obvious truth.'

Nice."

September: Surging Into the Shift of the Ages

It's an open secret that we're rocketing towards a date with destiny (2012) at Warp 9, and then some. Astrologers everywhere are prompting us to fasten our transporter belts and prepare for the flume ride of our lives (yes, it's a mixed metaphor, but appropriate for these intergalactic times, oui?)

One of my favorite transmissions on the Tao of Now (which is also what I call the theme of my monthly e-newsletter, What Shines) is Allison Rae's current Alignments Newsletter, on The Transformation Game.

She introduces the cosmic backdrop with a summary of the "Big 3" galactic alignments heralding our passage into the next world age:

1) The Grand Fixed Cross Solar Eclipse on August 11, 1999, which sparked a mass spiritual awakening that continues to reverberate around the planet. This was the wake-up call leading into the 2001-2002 Saturn-Pluto oppositions that reshaped our inner and outer landscapes. (We're coming up on the 5th anniversary of The World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, which took place on September 11, 2001.)

2) The historic Transit of Venus is a rare astronomical event, the passage of the planet Venus across the face of our local Sun. Venus has a very predictable, 40-year cycle, and Transits of Venus come in pairs, eight years apart. The first in this series was June 8, 2004. The second will be on June 6, 2012. The Maya are very aware of the Venus cycle, and the 2004-2012 Transit of Venus is connected to both the Mayan calendar “ending” in 2012 as well as the myth and symbolism of the great feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl.

3) In late 2006, we have the equally rare conjunction of Pluto with the Galactic Center. The first exact conjunction is coming up on December 29/30, 2006, and there will be two more passes - on July 17 and October 28, 2007. Sandwiched between the Venus Transits of the solar disc, the Pluto Passage throws open the doors for consciousness evolution on a scale we can’t even imagine from our vantage point today.

And if this intro isn't juicy enough, Allison explains the steps in the unfolding cosmic drama/dharma that is midwifing humanity into our full potential as conscious co-creators in the Divine Plan--regardless of what this may "look like" on a mundane, day-to-day level.

To update Leary, it's time to tune in, tune up, let go...and let's grow!

Welcome Home!

You'll love this funny flash movie from the Foundation for Global Community: it's a Scoop Nisker-esque kinda reminder that we're one planetary family, indivisible, with blue skies and butterflies and waterfalls and tacos for all:

The End of Plutocracy?

Pluto may have been demoted as a planet, but nothing can stop the plutonic transformational energies from having their way with us all. Visionary Activist Astrologer Caroline Casey says in her latest missive:

Pluto and the Mythic News:

February 26, 1993 – As a beautiful snowstorm swirled outside, I pondered the Mythic News, how the gods were trying to help us out by staging things in such a succinct symbolic manner that even the most dunderheaded humans would notice, and heed.

I noted that Pluto was stationing (apparent motion stops, the god beams down its literalized symbolism) that day, and that this god embodies the principle that whatever is suppressed becomes volatile and toxic due to its disrespectful suppression. One hour after the exact station, the news reported the 1st attempt to blow up the World Trade Towers from the Underworld parking garage. Whoowee…So literal.

I told this story at a speech at Herbfest Iowa in late August of 2001, saying, well Pluto’s now stationing again. Let’s see what we’ve all learned.

Pluto does station often in late August/early September. Last year, on September 1st, 2005, Pluto squared the U.S. Neptune, (where Neptune was when this country was born - representing the soul of this country.) And it was on that day that a British paper published the most apt cartoon, of the Statue of Liberty floating dead, face down in New Orleans, while disinterested troops with guns gazed dispassionately from an overhead bridge.

Well Pluto is stationing NOW, exact on Labor Day, September 4th at 7:20PM ET. So, team of dedicated democracy-philes, sane and reverent people, let’s work with it. Pluto says, “planet, schplanet”; in the words of ally Steve Bhaerman, “Sure it works in practice, but will it work in theory?”

The instructions of now encourage us to be active agents of Pluto, composting death in every imaginative, visualizing, practical manner that synchronicity affords us, to suck the “g” out of “kingdom,” and exhale the energetic chi into the animating of the resulting “kindom.”

Pluto would like us to collaborate in every way, sucking the energy out of any death-dealing up to no good irreverent violent plot, so that it is fully revealed, rendered harmless and collapses like a souffle.

As Vipassana meditation suggests, inhale the world’s grimy plutocracy, and exhale radiant beauty, now, forever, every day, together, for a few minutes, and especially this strange Labor Day weekend. Inhale death-dealing tyranny, exhale creative democracy.

And novelist Terry Pratchett adds: “When in doubt – choose to live!”

Peace of Earth

The World Peace Prayer Society has put forth the call for everyone to join together on Saturday, August 26th, for a Day of Prayers for Gratitude and Peace.

The tri-part ceremony, which takes place in New York State, honors:
1. Native Americans
2. All the people of North America
3. All the people of the world.

At the World Peace website, you can also purchase books of prayers specifically focused on those most affected by:
• The World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001
• Hurricane Katrina
• The Pakistan Earthquake
• The Asian Tsunami.

I'll be devoting the September issue of my e-newsletter, What Shines, to a radical perspective on peace and the environment known as the Peace of Earth, or Pax Gaia.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to your feedback.

Blessings.

Wealth and Worth

I just received this from my dear friend Ellie, who turns 93 in a few weeks. (See my story honoring her on her 92nd birthday, The Love You Make). It's a good reminder to value who we are and what we offer, regardless of life's curve balls:

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill.

In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you, but first, let me do this.

He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"

And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.

No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.

It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives,

we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt

by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased,

you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know,

but by WHO WE ARE.

You are special- Don't EVER forget it."

Count your blessings, not your problems.

And remember: amateurs built the Ark ...

professionals built the Titanic.

If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

Expanding the Solar System, Part 2

I now have a meta-perspective on my nomadic lifestyle, or mobile ministry, as one faithful reader put it: I'm a planet! The word planet comes from the Greek for "wanderer". My gravitational field keeps me in a smaller orbit than the Heavenly bodies that wandered into our galactic orbit and remained there; nonetheless, the "as above, so below" correspondence holds a satisfyingly familiar ring, perhaps akin to one of Saturn's (my First House planet, for the astrologically adept.)

Now we're expanding our sphere of influence and inclusiveness, as it were, opening the Milky Way to connections with other confections.

Celestially speaking, the International Astronomical Union has honed its definition of a planet to the following two conditions:

• The object in question must be in orbit around a star, but must not itself be a star, and
• It must have enough mass for the body's own gravity to pull it into a nearly spherical shape.

According to a report filed by the BBC, "Any object with a mass greater than 0.6% that of our Moon and a diameter greater than 800km would normally meet the second condition. But borderline cases will have to be resolved by more observation.

Some objects currently considered to be moons and asteroids could be eligible if they meet those basic tests. So the definition leaves the door open for other objects to join the expanding club."

It means Pluto has been demoted to the status of "pluton", along with Charon, (the temporarily named) UB313, and the asteroid Ceres. The IAU's proposal now recognizes eight "classical" planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

What's a pluton? Not a crunchy space salad treat. According to the IAU, plutons "reside in orbits around the Sun that take longer than 200 years to complete, circle the Sun with high 'inclination' (are highly tilted with respect to the classical planets) and typically have orbits that are far from being perfectly circular."

Yet--plutons fit all the criteria of the new definition of a planet, so Pluto does not receive a full "demotion". And over a dozen other new candidates now vie for planetary status:

Trans-Neptunian Objects
2003 EL61
2005 FY9
Sedna
Orcus
Quaoar
Varuna
2002 TX300
Ixion
2002 AW197

Asteroids
Vesta
Pallas
Hygiea

This is certainly one way of expanding our galactic reach--and while certainly cosmological, it's not necessarily cosmic in scope. Stay tuned to both inner and outer dimensional frequencies for updates. Conscious evolution is a level playing field. Only requirement: a steadily opening mind.

Expanding the Solar System, Part 1

Since writing about global warming in my August e-newsletter, What Shines, I've been in the hot zone for cool information! Here's the latest:

If you're tired of gritting your teeth at the high cost of energy, stop the grit and get off the grid, with The Solar Power Directory, a web-based state-by-state listing of solar power and alternative energy installation companies throughout the US. The site includes links to other alternative energy products and services including wind power, bio-diesel, photovoltaic and hot water heating systems for home and business.

Being Peace

Between the oil spill polluting Lebanon and the foiled terrorist bombing of ten US-bound planes from the UK, we're primed to once again take sides and fight back against "the enemy." It's the only way to stand up for what's right and move towards world peace...NOT.

As the father of nonviolent activism, Mahatma Gandhi said, "There is no way to peace...peace IS the way." As much as our reactive minds might want to place sanctions against Israel for causing the oil carnage, or against the Muslim community for being behind the almost-air attack, this response only keeps us in duality—which is precisely where the forces of darkness most wish us to stay.

When Aluna Joy Yaxk'in asked the Star Elders whom she channels how to heal the "split between the worlds" that's been present in the Middle East for eons, they told her:

"First you must rise above duality. Duality will soon be an issue of the past. Don't see the problem. SEE the positive result. In other words, see perfection in that area. If you fight against war, it is just another form of war. War is duality in its extreme, and the underworlds are struggling to keep you in duality. Remember you are a part of the collective. How YOU live affects everyone. Quit fighting on every level. Live in Peace and Love at home, and see this Peace and Love in the areas that need it. Be at Peace with your neighbors. Walk on the lands in Peace. You can't fight for peace; you can only live it. Don't ask for PEACE. Don't Pray for PEACE. Start acting as if PEACE is already here! Remember how you live is what you create in the world. The universe responds to your actions. One day you will wonder what all the fighting was about. It won't make sense to you anymore, because you will have rewritten the collective program. Quit acting like victims and think you can't do anything about it. You are the creators now."

I wrote something similar after 9-1-1, about this event being a planetary spiritual emergence. (If you'd like the special broadcast, please e-mail me with "9-1-1 article" in the subject line.) A lot of people got it; a few vilified me. As more of these wake-up calls happen, more of us will continue to let go of more of the need to react in kind.

Would I endorse nonviolence over the law of the claw if people I loved dearly were involved? I like to think I'm getting there. Once of the most enlightened comments I've heard along these lines came from a man who participated in the Source Force gathering of lightworkers in Arizona this past April. He said, "I don't see my kids as any more important than anyone else's." That's a pretty monumental statement for a parent to make. When we can all see all children as equally sacred—followed by seeing all adults the same way—it will be the end of war on Earth. And then we can get down to what really matters.

Window to Infinity

Today is 8:8:8 (August 8, 2006, 2+0+0+6 = 8), a spiritual window on our collective evolutionary path. Eight is the number of integrity, of harmony; the principle of the octave (resonance), the path of the one heart. The Mayan Calendar (which I've been following faithfully for many years) asks, in the eighth moon, or on any eight-toned day, "Do I live what I believe?" Eight is known as the Galactic tone. "G" is the primordial symbol; "lactic" refers to mother's milk. We are living in the Milky Way. Nourishment of the cosmos! Eight on its side is eternity. The infinity of integrity...the symbolism just goes on and on, appropriately for a numerologically infinite day.

Canadian astrologer and way-shower Tara Greene has a lot to say about 888. Here's an excerpt:

"On the Highest Spiritual level all time is NOW. Everything that ever happened is occurring NOW and everything that ever will happen is happening NOW. We create our present from our past and our future from our present. It is Karma. So 888 is a Triply Karmic Day. Karmic to the third Power. This is a very powerful occurance.

888 is the number of the Holy Spirit, an endless cord, the ourobouros serpent eating its tail. The Infinity symbol appears in a number of traditional Tarot Trumps, the Magician # 1, and # 8 Strength/Justice.

From An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Traditional Symbols by J.C. Cooper:

'Spiritually, eight is the goal of the initiate, having passed through the seven stages or heavens, and is thus, the number of Paradise regained; regeneration; resurrection; perfect rhythm; the eighth day created the new man of grace.

Buddhist: 8 means completion, all possibilities; 8 symbols good augury

Chinese: wholeness, all possibilities, good luck; the Ba Gua has 8 trigrams and pairs of opposites, the Book of Changes 8 x 8 =64. The circumference of the Ba Gua symbolizes time and space. There are 8 delights of human existence.

Christians: 8 symbolizes regeneration; rebirth. Eight beatitudes.

Egyptian: the number of Thoth, the great metaphysical teacher.

Hebrew: perfect intelligence, splendor, the digit value of IHVH, the 'number of the Lord'; The Temple was sanctified in eight days. Circumcision, the covenant with God for Hebrew males, takes place on the 8th day of life.

Hindu: 8 x 8 is the order of the celestial world established on earth. Temples are built on the pattern of the Mandala, the 8 x 8 symbolism. There are eight regions of the world; suns; divisions of the day .

Islam: The throne which encompasses the world is supported by eight angels, corresponding to the eight dividsions of space and the groups of letters in the Arabic Alphabet.'

The Tibetans use an instrument in their prayers called a dorje. It is considered to be a lightning bolt. It is a figure 8.

In the Kabbalah, the Number 8 is the Sefirot called 'Hod' and its meaning is Splendor.

It symbolizes reason, the Individual mind, the contact point with the Master Teachers, all Language and Visual Images. Its symbols are names and versicles, an apron. Its planet is Mercury/Thoth/Hermes. Its color is orange. It is related to the stellar light, bestowing elegance, swiftness, scientific knowledge and art, and constancy of speech, and it rules the sphere of actions of Mercury. Words properly vibrated have powerful effects on the inner planes. Chanting and mantras are in this sphere. Words have power. It is said that whosoever learns to pronounce the name of God, will be master of the Universe, as God.

Hod is a primary point of conceptual transfer in our return to the God/Goddess head. Hod helps us to understand the mechanisms of our perceptions. Beware, because we need to know where we may be deceived in the Astral realm. Hod also relates to the Moon, which is our cellular memories, our DNA, our past lives, present lives. The Moon rules intuition, instinctual knowledge.

There are 2 opportunities to invoke the vibrational sacred Geometry of 888. The first is August 8 and the second is August 17th, 2006 which adds up to 8, 1 + 7 = 8, August 17, 2006=888.

Between these 2 dates I advise a 10 day strategy beginning on August 8th to bring all of your personal past, present and future realities into alignment, and become Infinite, become the Messiah, become Christ’s sacred message of Love, Infinite Love and Compassion.

The Magician in the Tarot Trump #1 has a lemniscate, the mathematical sign for infinity above him. Like yin/yang, the symbol depicts the balance of the opposites, the interplay of energies, positive/negative endlessly changing into one another. Author Sallie Nichols in her book Jung and Tarot, sees the infinity sign as 'a pair of giant spectacles. If you put on these magic eyeglasses you may catch a glimpse into new dimensions of reality. These glasses are not rose-colored. What we shall see in this new dimension is a natural phenomenon. It is not pie-in-the-sky nor the manifestation of some vague 'other world.' The experiences which {infinity} offers us are as indigenous to our nature and as rooted in our terrestrial environment as are the plant that we see growing.'

The Number 8 Card in the Tarot Trumps is that duality of 8 and 11. How appropriate that the number 8 itself has a dual nature. Traditionally Tarot Trump # 8 is Strength, showing a woman closing the jaws of a Lion, with an Infinity symbol above her head. The Strength card shows our power over our animal selves by the Feminine Psyche or Soul. Spiritual Strength is what 8 confers. Also the balance of the human and the Divine. The Divine Mystery of Union. It is also Trump # 11/ Justice. Sometimes the two symbols are interchanged on the cards, 8 being Justice and 11 Strength depending on the Tarot deck. Justice is cause and effect. Karma, not as punishment but as a rebalanceing for deeds done."

In reading Tara's illuminating information, what flashed across my mental screen (and perhaps yours as well, if you've been reading these posts for at least a few days) is that we've now entered the Lion's Gate. The Divine Feminine is the key to taming the Leonine energies that can otherwise roar out of control. Masculine power in service to Feminine wisdom is true healing/wholeness/holiness. This is a wondrous opportunity for us all to wed our masculine and feminine selves both within our psyches and out in the world.

Tara offers a meditation for this 10-day window in her posting, and I've created two e-courses specifically to help you recognize, reclaim and celebrate the wedding of the masculine and feminine aspects of your life. I call it learning to yinify: to magnetize more of the Divine Feminine into your life and into the world. Both e-courses are available with an e-mail coaching option: The Inanna Initiations and Loving Our Lunacy.

Blessings and joy to you!

The Fire This Time

August has always held special significance for me. Years before I knew anything about astrology, cosmic forces, or how energy works, the month signaled a kind of portent, when whatever happened amazed me. I now know the Leonine energies are a cosmic complement to my Aquarian sun--but well beyond this, our eighth month opens portals to power for us all.

On the Starchild Ascension site, Celia Fenn channeling Archangel Michael, writes,

"...the Sirius Star Gate opens into the Harmonic of the 8:8:8 on the 8th of August and is followed by the energy of the Full Moon (in Aquarius) the next day. The gate remains open until the 12th of August. Then, on the 13th of August, Venus transits into the fifth house of Leo, governed by the Sun and the element of Fire. The Fire Goddess Comes - the energy of the Solar Feminine floods the planet.

The fiery energy of the Divine Feminine in her manifestation as Sekmet, the lioness, has been felt on the planet in recent weeks, but now, the Fire Goddess flames forth in the fiery and intense energy of Leo. She will transit through Leo in the month of August, following the path of the Sun and creating intense and fiery energy. On the 27th of August she will cross paths with Saturn at 14 degrees of Leo. This will be a pivotal date, for at that time her energy will be under pressure to transform and change as a result of the close conjunction with Saturn.

At that point, dearest Lightworkers, the Planetary Collective will choose between continuing on the current path that will lead to continued destruction, or transmuting the energy into Global Peace and Harmony. Whatever seeds are planted at this time will grow and flourish in the next year. We cannot stress enough how important it is NOW to hold the vision of Global Peace. Pray for Peace, Meditate for Peace - create that miracle! Feel that Peace deep within yourself and your heart and believe in it totally and completely. Hold the Vision and the intention for the Highest Possible Outcome - Global Peace - starting in the Middle East."

On a personal level, we've also been working with the energy of the Divine Solar Feminine to transmute all that is not "of peace" in our own lives. Michael continues:

"The 8:8:8 'harmonic' is a vortex of pure energy that holds a powerful archetypal imprint that is made available to all those on the planet. The archetype of the 8 is PERSONAL POWER - the essence of the I AM within each person. The conjunction of this Harmonic with the Lion's Gate Energy creates a powerful moment for Personal and Planetary empowerment. The 8:8:8 is also what we would call a 'Time Gate' or 'Time Lock'. It allows you as individuals to access fully your Past and Future self in the Present Moment as you experience the entirety of your 'I AM' presence. Wherever you will find yourself physically at that time will be a power point for you. It is an opportunity to consciously integrate all that you Are and hold the balance, for yourself and the planet as part of your Lightwork.

The 'Spirit' Lions that guard the portal of the Lion's Gate were known in ancient Egypt as the Lions of 'Yesterday' and 'Tomorrow'. Enter in between the guardians of the Past and the Future, and fully claim your I AM power - NOW. This will give you great strength on your journey forward.

Then, on the 9th of August, this energy will be amplified by the energies of the Full Moon. The rising Moon will be in Aquarius, with the setting Sun in Leo. The energy of Aquarius is governed by Uranus, that planet of sudden shifts and changes. You can harness that energy to accelerate the transformation for PEACE as humanity stands at the threshold of the Age of Aquarius, or the Golden Age of Peace. You are planting the seeds for the Coming Age in your work right now!"

On the 13th, we have the opportunity to use the power of Sekmet to transmute the Solar Fire "from its lower expression of greed, power, and destruction into its higher expression of Love and Beauty and Harmony. "

Then on August 26th and 27th, resonance and reverberation begins, as we complete the 8:8:8 energies until we reach the 9:9:9 harmonic on the 9th and 27th of September in 2007. This will be the final clearing and closing of this cycle that began in 1999.

Michael assures us that as Venus in Leo transits Saturn in Leo, "This will be the important moment of Transformation and an opportunity to Restructure old patterns of hostility and transmute them into Higher Octaves of Peace and Love.

The Sun will have moved into Virgo on the 23rd of August, and the New Moon in Virgo, also on the 23rd, will allow you to GROUND your I AM power in order to create Global Peace and Harmony on the beloved Planet Earth.

Personally, and as a Planet, you can choose to transmute the Solar Fire energy into Higher Love through Global Peace. Call on the Divine Feminine through Hathor, to allow her energy to be felt at this time.

You are Human Angels, you are Christed Beings, you have worked for this moment. You are taking on your Mastery and becoming true Stewards of the planetary energy. You can make a difference!

Call Forth Peace and Joy.

And so - IT IS!"

Making the Planetary Personal

I learned of another great climate change site right after sending off my August e-newsletter on global warming: check out Climate Star.

It includes a letter you can customize and send to your legistlator(s), as well as a list of practical steps you can take right now to help reduce your ecological footprint.

I agree with all the climate choices except for microwave oven use; microwaves are actually very harmful to your health. E-mail me if you'd like a few microwave danger articles as Word attachments.

The Astrological Aspects Of Al Gore

Insightful astrologer Judy Goldberg once again dives into some very timely marrow with her analysis of Al Gore's planetary placements as they affect his place on the planet. Since I've just published my August newsletter on "An Inconvenient Truth," her article is a welcome addition to the mission:

The Ultimate Healing

I received the following as a forward, and while I am unable to verify the story, the message is so compelling I decided it's worth sharing "even if" it's apocryphal. This is mega-healing: for the Middle East, for the planet, for your own heart and soul and thus, the heart and soul of the world. Enjoy.

HO'OPONOPONO
by Joe Vitale

Two years ago, I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients--without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate's chart and then look within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved.

When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal anyone else by healing himself? How could even the best self-improvement master cure the criminally insane? It didn't make any sense. It wasn't logical, so I dismissed the story.

However, I heard it again a year later. I heard that the therapist had used a Hawaiian healing process called ho'oponopono. I had never heard of it, yet I couldn't let it leave my mind. If the story was at all true, I had to know more. I had always understood "total responsibility" to mean that I am responsible for what I think and do. Beyond that, it's out of my hands. I think that most people think of total responsibility that way. We're responsible for what we do, not what anyone else does--but that's wrong.

The Hawaiian therapist who healed those mentally ill people would teach me an advanced new perspective about total responsibility. His name is Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. We probably spent an hour talking on our first phone call. I asked him to tell me the complete story of his work as a therapist.

He explained that he worked at Hawaii State Hospital for four years.

That ward where they kept the criminally insane was dangerous.

Psychologists quit on a monthly basis. The staff called in sick a lot or simply quit. People would walk through that ward with their backs against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. It was not a pleasant place to live, work, or visit.

Dr. Len told me that he never saw patients. He agreed to have an office and to review their files. While he looked at those files, he would work on himself. As he worked on himself, patients began to heal.

"After a few months, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely," he told me. "Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of ever being released were being freed." I was in awe. "Not only that," he went on, "but the staff began to enjoy coming to work.

Absenteeism and turnover disappeared. We ended up with more staff than we needed because patients were being released, and all the staff was showing up to work. Today, that ward is closed."

This is where I had to ask the million-dollar question: "What were you doing within yourself that caused those people to change?"

"I was simply healing the part of me that created them," he said. I didn't understand. Dr. Len explained that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life--simply because it is in your life--is your responsibility. In a literal sense the entire world is your creation.

Whew. This is tough to swallow. Being responsible for what I say or do is one thing. Being responsible for what everyone in my life says or does is quite another. Yet, the truth is this: if you take complete responsibility for your life, then everything you see, hear, taste, touch, or in any way experience is your responsibility because it is in your life. This means that terrorist activity, the president, the economy or anything you experience and don't like--is up for you to heal. They don't exist, in a manner of speaking, except as projections from inside you. The problem isn't with them, it's with you, and to change them, you have to change you.

I know this is tough to grasp, let alone accept or actually live. Blame is far easier than total responsibility, but as I spoke with Dr. Len, I began to realize that healing for him and in ho'oponopono means loving yourself.

If you want to improve your life, you have to heal your life. If you want to cure anyone, even a mentally ill criminal you do it by healing you.

I asked Dr. Len how he went about healing himself. What was he doing, exactly, when he looked at those patients' files?

"I just kept saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again," he explained.

"That's it?"

"That's it."

Turns out that loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself, and as you improve yourself, you improve your world.

Let me give you a quick example of how this works: one day, someone sent me an email that upset me. In the past I would have handled it by working on my emotional hot buttons or by trying to reason with the person who sent the nasty message.

This time, I decided to try Dr. Len's method. I kept silently saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you,' I didn't say it to anyone in particular. I was simply evoking the spirit of love to heal within me what was creating the outer circumstance.

Within an hour I got an e-mail from the same person. He apologized for his previous message. Keep in mind that I didn't take any outward action to get that apology. I didn't even write him back. Yet, by saying 'I love you,' I somehow healed within me what was creating him.

I later attended a ho'oponopono workshop run by Dr. Len. He's now 70 years old, considered a grandfatherly shaman, and is somewhat reclusive.

He praised my book, The Attractor Factor. He told me that as I improve myself, my book's vibration will raise, and everyone will feel it when they read it. In short, as I improve, my readers will improve.

"What about the books that are already sold and out there?" I asked.

"They aren't out there," he explained, once again blowing my mind with his mystic wisdom. "They are still in you." In short, there is no out there. It would take a whole book to explain this advanced technique with the depth it deserves.

Suffice It to say that whenever you want to improve anything in your life, there's only one place to look: inside you. When you look, do it with love.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The words of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len:
"Ho'oponopono is really very simple. For the ancient Hawaiians, all problems begin as thought. But having a thought is not the problem. So what's the problem? The problem is that all our thoughts are imbued with painful memories, memories of persons, places, or things.
The intellect working alone can't solve these problems, because the intellect only manages. Managing things is no way to solve problems. You want to let them go! When you do Ho'oponopono, what happens is that the Divinity takes the painful thought and neutralizes or purifies it. You don't purify the person, place, or thing. You neutralize the energy you associate with that person, place, or thing. So the first stage of Ho'oponopono is the purification of that energy.
Now something wonderful happens. Not only does that energy get neutralized; it also gets released, so there's a brand new slate. Buddhists call it the Void. The final step is that you allow the Divinity to come in and fill the void with light.
To do Ho'oponopono, you don't have to know what the problem or error is. All you have to do is notice any problem you are experiencing physically, mentally, emotionally, whatever. Once you notice, your responsibility is to immediately begin to clean, to say, 'I'm sorry. Please forgive me.'"
Hotter Than July
Stevie Wonder wasn't writing about global warming when he penned the album that titles this entry, but he was prescient: the National Climatic Data Center reports that the first six months of 2006 were the warmest first half of any year in the continental United States since 1895 - 3.4 degrees above the 20th-century average.
Last month was the second-warmest June on record for the United States and the world, which had its warmest June ever in 2005. Globally, the first six months of 2006 were the sixth warmest on record; the warmest year was in 1998, according to the Climatic Center.
Our planet hasn't had a cooler-than-average first six months of any year since the early 1980s, a streak that defies the natural vagaries of weather.
So, is it global warming, or is it Memorex?
Whatever the reason, people are paying attention, and it's about time - literally. Acting in time, we can turn the warming trend around.
Are we ready to move our collective energy and focus from global bombing to global warming? Be sure to read my August e-newsletter, What Shines for in-depth info on this topic. And let's get some hot dialogue happening.
Happy New Year!
Today ushers in the Mayan year Red Magnetic Moon (1 Mulac in Yucatec), a global and galactic opportunity to embrace the Feminine in a major way and grow with the flow! Moon energy is all about water, fluidity, and allowing ourselves to dive deep into what has been hidden beneath the surface of our oh-so-solar, high intensity lives.
Each day of the Mayan Sacred Calendar, known as a "kin", carries a distinct energy that imprints your cells with the frequency of fourth dimensional time. It's an easy, fun way to get "out of your mind" and in touch/in tune with natural rhythms and earth cycles. I've been playing with the calendar since 1995 and live simultaneously in both worlds.
You can download a free pocket calendar at the Foundation for the Law of Time site, and steep yourself in an excellent self-guided tutorial on Mayan cosmology at Jaris Dreaming's Dreamspell page.
Today's galactic signature, Red Magnetic Moon, sounds like this:
I unify in order to purify
Attracting flow
I seal the process of universal water
With the magnetic tone of purpose
I am guided by my own power doubled!
This energy will guide the entire year, through July 24, 2007.
July 25th is a "Day Out Of Time"
Today is the annual "Day Out of Time" on the Mayan Calendar--which I've followed for more than a decade. The Calendar is aligned with natural rhythms and enables you to access fourth dimensional frequencies just by reciting each day's "galactic signature", or solar seal. These daily affirmations (260 in all, referred to as "kin") work on an intuitive level, and will quickly find their way into your subsconscious. I sing the galactic gateway each morning as I bounce on my rebounder!
What is the Day Out of Time (Also known as Green Day)? Here's a summary from the Galactic Research Institute:
"Around the planet, this day is reserved for festival and community.
Central focuses are: Planetary Peace through Culture, Stop business as usual, Attest to the truth that 'Time is Art!', forgiveness, atonement, freeing of debts, purification, the Art of Peace...
The Day out of Time, celebrated annually since 1992, always falls on July 25th. On the 13 Moon calendar, this day is no day of the month, and no day of the week. It is inbetween the closing of the previous year (July 24th) and the dawning of the new year (July 26th). The offical flag for the Day out of Time is the Banner of Peace.
This flag is flown in 71 Brazilian cities alone, where it is recognized as an official municipal holiday. In Japan, over 100 Day out of Time Festivals displayed this symbol to unify our intentions of 'Planetary Peace Through Culture.' This day is an opportunity to experience the freedom of being alive, true timelessness and loving kindness. Whether public gatherings or private circles, this day is a catalytic launch-pad for the year to come, a great, global harnessing of telepathic presence, and a perfect way to invite new participants into the harmony of the 13 Moon Calendar. The celebration begins in the heart!
The Day out of Time this year will bear the Galactic Signature of 'Yellow Cosmic Star,' which, based on the Dreamspell Mythology, signifies an extremely critical alignment opportunity for us. The Yellow Cosmic Star is Kin 208, which represents the final 208th step leading to 'Merlin's Green Central Castle of Enchantment', which is a domain of consciousness available to all of us who can awaken out of our 'cosmic amnesia' and remember who we are and why we are here.
This is the Galactic Signature for today:
Kin 208 Yellow Cosmic Star
I endure in order to beautify
Transcending art
I seal the store of elegance
With the cosmic tone of presence
I am guided by the power of free will!
On this Day Out of Time, we can join kin around the world in deepening our commitment to the truth that 'Time is Art', and that we can free ourselves from the oppression and confusion of the frequency of mechanized time. As we liberate ourselves from its distortions, we are awakening from the 5000-year spell of his-story. Together, we can enter the Red Magnetic Moon year with an unwavering connection to the the galactic time magic residing within every human heart!"
For much more detail (in multiple languages, acknowledging this vehicle as a true tool for planetary unification), please visit the official Day Out of Time page.
Coming Om to the Light
To complement yesterday's post, here's a slightly different perspective on the current Leonine energies, the explosiveness in the Middle East, and our collective quest for planetary peace. Thanks to Lynne Murgula.
"In recent days many lightworkers have expressed awareness of apparently baseless agitation experienced both on physical and psychic levels. There can be little doubt that the conflict currently escalating in the Middle East is impacting the etheric web of the planet, given this area's historic role as the 'cradle of civilization'.
Disciples recognize physical plane events as reflections of the fight-to-the-finish between the forces of darkness and light -- a reality which becomes increasingly potent with the ever-advancing approach of the Age of Aquarius -- and which can be addressed only via transformation of the etheric energies surrounding the planet, energies determining all manifestation upon the dense physical plane which humanity inhabits in physical form.
As we commence our work with Leo, the sign of individual awareness, and with its New Moon, the moon phase of beginnings, let us recognize the spiritual reality that we are all One -- fragments of the Whole -- and the truth that the sense of ourselves as individual beings is an illusion caused by the duality inherent in form. Let us, therefore, use the opportunity of the Leo energies to reveal the inherent Oneness of all."
Keynote for Leo: "I Am That Am I"
MEDITATION
We come together in group intent, raising our attention above the head, allowing energy - in the form of spirit - to flow through the body and through this worldwide group working together. We direct this spirit from the intuitive center between the eyebrows, toward and permeating our planet as it hangs in space -- giving rise to a translucent, shimmering globe transforming the light from white to silver to radiant gold. We hold this vision for 2 minutes, then recognizing our individuality within the group, we experience the Oneness we have become in the synthetic effort to light the planet and thereby prepare humanity for the new world era. We invite spirit to permeate and consolidate our Oneness in preparation for sharing its light in the coming Full Moon of Leo. We hold this vision of the group for 3 minutes, then sounding aloud:
OOOOOMMMMM OOOOOMMMMM OOOOOMMMMM
Tools for Cooling Our Global Fever
As we enter the astrological sign of Leo, ruled by the Sun, we're living in a hot zone everywhere: tempers are flaring, the Middle East is again embroiled in an emotional volcano, and the planet Herself is overheating to record levels. Fortunately, we are powerful co-creators who can help shift the energy using the tool that's our best-kept open secret: awareness.
In her latest newsletter, Deb Holt reminds us, "These days between July 13th and August 3rd are known as, 'days of narrowness.' Or simply put, the three negative weeks. They can be considered the most challenging days of the year. And potentially the most rewarding.
The spiritual ozone layer that normally surrounds us is now removed. This lack of a filter results in Light permeating us directly and in concentrated form. Without restriction, our vessels are unable to handle this infusion of energy and this is why throughout history wars and large-scale calamities have occurred during this time.
However, if we take extra care to treat others--and ourselves-- with human dignity, the Light available at this time can wake us up from our slumber of routine and complacency. With the consciousness of love for no reason - especially when we are angry - we will generate enormous goodness both personally and globally.
This is the time of Leo. This month there is a strong tendency to experience a surge of negativity. The sign of Leo is controlled by the sun, and whereas most other planets control two signs, the only sign the sun controls is Leo. Therefore, the energy of Leo is very concentrated. If we are not ready for it, we can get dowsed.
Know that the fundamental underlying cause of the difficulties and chaotic conditions that have become part of the human landscape is the intolerance of people toward each other. Intolerance separates us from the Light of the Creator and permits the negative ego-energy to run the show.
To counter this surge of egocentric entitlement we dig deeper within ourselves and find a way to love for no reason. Unconditional love is something of a slogan these days. We say it, but don't always know how to do it.
The information below can be used often and shared with friends and family. Envision the troubled areas in your personal life and around the globe and imagine sending Light and Love to those dark places. With the collective energy being generated throughout the world, we will generate miracles for the record books.
Assets of the Leo:
• Sincere, hard-working yet laid-back, love to learn, fun, charismatic, larger-than-life
Main motivation:
R–E–S–P–E–C–T
Negatives and how to transform them:
• The rule is that a Leo knows everything, and they also can fix everyone’s life. As a Leo, give yourself permission not to fix everyone’s problems.
• Leos hate asking for help. Go against your nature – receive instead of give – to create new opportunities.
• Flattery will get you everywhere with a Leo. Learn to give yourself approval so you don't need to seek it from every person you meet.
• Leos live in extremes, from how they spend their money to how they love others. Seek balance in everything you do. Ask yourself why you are doing too much.
• One of Leo’s main problems in relationships is trust. Letting people in is a challenge. So show your vulnerability is not a weakness – it is a strength and a very attractive quality.
• Leos give too much and never understand why people turn against them afterwards. Remember the principle to allow people to earn your largesse.
How to improve relationships with a Leo:
• Treat them with respect.
• Ask them to do you a favor rather than ordering them to do something.
• Give them a lot of attention.
• Gently help them see outside of themselves.
This month, climbing out of our quicksand of 'disgust and annoyance' is not so simple when we are neck deep in it. Yet, patience is the action to pull us out when we are sinking into 'hatred for no reason.' Practice patience with yourself first, and then with others this month. Start with yourself first because our hatred and anger comes from our own pain and confusion. So we need to be gentle with ourselves. We won’t embrace others’ Light if we don’t already embrace our own.
For these next 31 days use the mantra: let it go. It's not the time to dwell in hatred, even if we do have good reasons. The energy is too powerful and the boomerang of the karmic effect is quick and painful.
This is also a great time to reacquaint ourselves with useful spiritual tools and practices. This is one of pain’s positives – it helps us appreciate the many resources for moving more quickly into the Light."
How We Spend Our Dash
On the heels of seeing Al Gore's riveting film about global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, I received an e-mail with the link to this mini-movie reminding us about how brief and precious our lives truly are: The Dash Movie. While it's true I'm an empath and highly sensitive, both moved me to tears, especially coming in rapid succession.
I'll have a lot more to say about An Inconvenient Truth in the August issue of my e-newsletter, What Shines, and will look forward as always to your feedback.
In the meantime, may your dash be a slow dance of delight, purpose, joy, and abundant love.
How to Heal the World
Thanks to Maggie Erotokritou, coordinator of the Planetary Awakening Network (PAN), for transmitting this succinct description of what's happening to and for all of us now. It's excerpted from Owen Waters' new book, The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness:
"The Shift to the New Reality has been gaining speed for many years. We have entered a phase of The Shift which is now bringing rapid transformation to our world.
In physics, transformation emerges from within chaos. The existence of chaos is not an option, it's just the way the universe works. The global chaos that we are experiencing is, according to physics, normal. From mankind's point of view, to put it in everyday parlance, this is not a good thing. The effects can range from mild discomfort to extreme trauma.
The good news is that the energy of transformation can express itself at many levels. The energy has to go somewhere, so if the energy of transformation fails to find expression at a higher frequency level, it will spiral downwards until it does find an outlet for its expression. But it can be absorbed and used at the spiritual level, diverting any need for physical upheaval.
The energy of transformation can be channeled into a spiritual focus, into emotional release or it can be allowed to manifest in the only remaining field of popular action, the physical world. There it will erupt through emotion-driven, physical phenomena - volcanic eruption, earthquakes and violent storms, for example. All of these 'natural' disasters are driven by the chaotic emotional energy of mankind. All of them can be healed and prevented when people channel enough spiritual energy to soothe the chaos.
Today, it is more important than ever to send healing energies into the world. If enough people enter their inner, spiritual space regularly, then the incoming energies of transformation can be expressed on a spiritual level.
You can make all the difference in the world today when you help balance the incoming energies of transformation by using the following technique.
The Infinite Being Heal the World Technique:
Reconnect with your spiritual source daily. Use the Infinite Being meditation from the InfiniteBeing.com web site, or your own meditation technique, the first thing every day. Make it a habit, a part of your morning routine.
End your meditation session by spending time in gratitude for life, nature and the Infinite Being from which you materialized. Let a sense of gratitude for everything in your life fill your heart.
Then, intend world peace and enlightenment. Send this intention out into the world as love energy through the heart chakra just in front of your breastbone.
This alone would be enough to make a big difference in the world today. However, by adding a third component to the technique, it becomes enormously powerful and effective.
Powerful acts of creation all have three essential components: intent, feeling and motion. Those are the only three tools which Infinite Being used to create the universe and everything within it. That's how powerful those three components are, when used together in equal balance.
So far you have set the first component,
(1) Your intention - world peace and enlightenment.
You have also set the second component,
(2) A love-inspired environment - gratitude for the universe and everything in your life.
Now, it's time for the third component,
(3) Action. It is time to move that energy, in large quantities, into the global mind atmosphere surrounding the Earth. This is how:
On every in-breath, imagine white light from the Cosmos entering your crown chakra, above the head, and traveling down your spine to the level of your heart, then traveling forward into your heart chakra, just in front of your breastbone.
At the same time, see white light from the Earth entering the base of your spine and traveling up the spine, then forward, to merge with the cosmic energy in the heart chakra.
The energies of the Cosmos and the Earth will fuse together and cause an energetic reaction at the frequency of the heart chakra. This fusion forms a ball of energetic white light in the heart chakra.
With every out-breath, send the power of this energetic reaction out to the world. Direct it as a beam of white light from your heart chakra, out into the world.
Continue this in-breath, out-breath cycle for at least five minutes each morning and you will not only help heal the world, you will change your entire day for the better.
The universe reflects who you are. When you practice healing the world, by automatic reflection, you heal who you are. Any and all issues which have been challenging for you will move closer towards resolution as you help the world in this way.
There's nothing like starting your day helping to heal the world in these critical days of transformation. It's one of those things that brightens your day and makes you feel good to be alive."
Celestial Wisdom: Divine Guidance in Hollywood?
Ace astrologer Judith Goldberg reports in her latest missive, Saturday Night at the Movies: The Cosmic Cultural Revolution that the spate of spiritual cinema we're seeing may just be divinely guided: a little Heavenly intervention now that, collectively, we're ready to e/merge from our oft-created circuit of hell!
Planetary synchronicities are helping film producers on Earth to deliver message movies for the masses now, including:
• An Inconvenient Truth (Al Gore's cinematic warning about Global Warming);
• The DaVinci Code (based on the best-selling eponymous book, which turns conventional wisdom about Mary Magdalene on its ear. The Divine Feminine is re-emerging because it's time!);
• Conversations with God and Celestine Prophecy (both based on bestsellers, by Neale Donald Walsch and James Redfield, respectively, and available on DVD through Stephen Simon's Spiritual Cinema Circle);
• Peaceful Warrior (based on Dan Millman's book, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" and discussed in depth, here);
• The Secret (which I haven't seen but which has been recommended by several sources);
...and a number of others in the pipeline set for near-future release.
I've always been a reader more than a movie buff, but statistically, I'm in the minority. However, given the turning tide in cinematic fare, I may just have to spend more quality time with the Silver Screen. Please pass the popcorn.
Giving Peace a Global Chance
The Department of Peace initiative stewarded by Congressman Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, during his 2004 bid for the presidency has now become a worldwide movement. I just received an e-mail from the Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace, with a link to the website for the International People's Initiative for Departments of Peace.
The site contains several visionary, necessary, and cogent calls to action, to wit:
"As Earth's climate heats up at an alarming rate, threatening widespread global devastation, humanity faces the biggest challenge to its survival in history. For our children, our children's children, and the planet, we must now avoid wasting our precious resources engaging in costly, destructive wars and instead employ well-tried, non-violent methods of resolving conflicts around the world. We can then focus our energy, creativity, wisdom and prudence on providing for a sustainable, and thus safe and secure, future...
"The good news: non-violent confllict resolution is possible and already happening. Indeed, we have within the human family many men and women experienced in successfully facilitating the non-violent resolution within and between nations and states. We call on all governments involved to seek immediately their input and action...
"It is time to create a world in which we all pursue the non-violent resolution of conflict. The stakes are too high for any other course of action."
AMEN. A-WOMEN. A-HO!
Health and Consciousness Alert: Mercury Rx Imminent!
It's that time again, fellow travelers: just as the U.S. celebrates 230 years of "independence" (a separate topic in itself!), Mercury, the planet that rules communication on all levels, goes retrograde (appears to travel backward) until July 28th. Considering we're in the midst of opening the Syrian Stargate and releasing a lot of old programming, this can make July especially intense. I know I'm already feeling some of the weird symptoms that Shala discusses on Lightworker.com.
Be on the alert for:
• fatigue,
• body pain,
• digestion upsets,
• rising inner heat (and I thought it was perimenopause! :-),
• headaches,
• neck/back pain,
• cravings (ditto for the chocolate bar!),
• hunger,
• sleep interruption,
• vivid dreams,
• water retention,
• brain fog and memory loss,
• depression,
• sore eyes,
• constipation/diarrhea,
• skin rashes,
• nausea.
The good news: these are all very temporary conditions as we clear out old energies that no longer serve who we're becoming. Shala counsels: "Many of these symptoms are our body coping with the Earth’s dynamic energy shifts and also our own frequency amplification. There is no one way to eliminate all of these symptoms; however we can soften them to an extent by supporting our body with some simple and basic offerings.
• Drink good living water and fresh green organic juices--especially celery, cucumber & parsley;
• Eat fresh organic greens, salads, fruits, soaked seeds, nuts, superfoods and lots of liquid ionic minerals;
• Spend time outdoors;
• Meditate;
• Give your body the gift of saunas, massage, yoga, and walking.
All help the body to balance our inner terrain and allow food and energy to flow easier."
Shala also recommends the film, The Secret as a useful tool for helping us along this path toward total freedom. Since it's the second recommendation for it I've received in 2 days (the first being from wonderful cyber colleague, Kathleen Jacoby, whose own blog is quite thought-provoking), I'm paying attention. The spiritual cinema genre is greatly amped up now along with all other evolutionary media, so there will be a lot more movies with messages coming soon to the Silver Screen.
Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior
Though I rarely go to the movies these days, the growing Spiritual Cinema genre excites me: we're finally beginning to use media to reach the masses in a positive way.
Peaceful Warrior, based on the best-selling autobiographical novel, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior," by Dan Millman, is a modern Hero's Journey in which a talented young gymnast who has it all (including a supersized ego) discovers his true self via an enigmatic wise man he calls Socrates--after a serious accident threatens to destroy Dan's Olympic dreams.
While a little derivative, it makes up in emotional impact what it lacks in originality (possibly because there is only one story in the world, and redundancy can be highly instructive!)
For instance, instead of sitting under a Bodhi tree (not the bookstore, for those of you based in L.A.) until he attains enlightenment, Socrates makes Dan sit on the hood of a jalopy, "Until you have something worthwhile to tell me." After innumerable false (though humorous) attempts, Dan stands before his teacher and repeats his own words back to him, with a sense of awareness for the first time: "There's always something happening. There are no ordinary moments."
And in lieu of the allegorical Zen teacher holding the eager student's head beneath water until he's nearly drowned, saying, "When you want enlightenment as much as you wanted air, you will be ready to learn," Socrates responds to Dan's request to "make it quick" by throwing him off a bridge into a stream on the UC Berkeley campus.
Yet there are a number of "ah-ha" moments that riveted me in recognition, such as when Dan struggles on the ledge of a tower with a hooded adversary--and discovers he's struggling with himself. He sees his egoic self and says tearfully, "Oh, you're the one I have to let go of!"
['Way back in 1989, when I was initially cleansing my body, I wrote in my journal that the toxic relationship I most needed to get out of was the one I was in with myself! About what awaited on the far side of this release, I wrote, "I am poised on the brink of an unknown, terrifying descent into chaos. All this attention to order does not appear to be the answer. Letting go, letting life happen, would be--if I can but gather the courage to plunge into the depths, trusting that I will not drown or die, but maybe, begin at last to live.
"This opens the floodgates, which says to me that I am on the right track. I've touched on a nerve, a rawness, and rather than analyze it, I should just let it see the light. And shine..."]
In the film, when Dan sarcastically tests Socrates by saying, "This is what you do? You work at a gas station?", Socrates replies with equanimity, "It's a service station. Service, Dan. There is no higher calling." And I remembered a challenging moment during my initial journey year in New York State, when the wisest person I'd ever met was making sandwiches in a tiny health food store.
The reminder that galvanized me most was when Socrates advises Dan to resume his gymnastic training. Stunned, Dan turns to him and shouts, "I have a steel rod in my leg!" And Socrates responds, "A warrior does not give up what he loves--he finds a way to love what he does."
[In 1997, deep into my healing journey, I published a series of articles that wove my personal evolution on the loom of the Mayan Calendar, an ideal vehicle for me at that time. In piece #6, penned just prior to my 40th birthday, I wrote, "I spent my first thirty-two years suffused with a nameless, lingering sadness, consumed by rituals of my own design. In despair over a lifestyle which felt like a sickness, I entered the tunnel.
"My surrender came in stages. And I began to experience a joy beyond anything I'd thought possible, as the crusty layers of doubt and fear and judgment slowly peeled away, revealing the vibrant being beneath. I made a conscious decision then to live through an open heart forever. I'm by no means perfect in holding to this resolve, yet I choose to return to this place of radiance again and again.
"There are only two ways to live your life, Einstein said. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. I'm dancing within the rainbow hoop, here in the Heart of Heaven."]
I discuss the film as it relates to the theme of our individual and global quest for happiness in the July issue of my e-newsletter, What Shines.
Spirit in Disguise, or Blessed by the Dress!
It's been a Solstice week of little miracles and amazing synchronicities that affirm the ever-present Power within and around us, regardless of how life appears to be going at the moment.
Several weeks ago, while housesitting in Marin County, I saw a woman in Whole Foods wearing a beautiful sleeveless summer dress, sprinkled with stars, in all my favorite colors. I spontaneously went up to her and said, "I love your dress!" Whereupon, to my astonishment, she promptly offered to mail it to me if I gave her my address.
I demurred, "Oh, no, I was just admiring it!" This is something my grandmother used to do (offer to give me whatever I said I liked). But the woman, a petite, elegant, older Asian lady, insisted I needed to receive this gift. I said I didn't even know if it would fit me, and she replied that if it didn't, I could pass it along to a friend. I almost wept from her kindness, then began spilling stress in terms of searching for appropriate housing, fatigue, etc. The next thing I knew, she had pulled me aside and was saying a prayer for me, right there in the middle of Whole Foods! It was all quite uplifting and incredible. I gave her my card, and then promptly forgot about it.
Today when I went to pick up my mail in Sebastopol, there was a package with no return address. I was puzzled, and when I opened it--voila, the dress! And Jean purposely sent it with no way for me to return it--or to thank her. She enclosed a "Thinking of You" card reminding me to trust God (and entrust my cares to God), and that was all. I only know her first name.
Excited, I dashed over to the Whole Foods here to try it on in the restroom. Alas, the armholes were too tight, so the dress didn't fit properly. She was tiny compared with me. So, I decided to put it back in the car to give to someone else. But first, since it was 100 degrees outside, I wanted a succulent slice of watermelon!
A woman perusing the watermelons asked me how to discern which slices were organic, and since I had just asked that question yesterday, I had the answer. I found myself telling her about the dress I was holding; then I offered it to her. To my amazement, her eyes grew bright with tears, and she said, "Oh, you can't imagine what this means. My husband died four years ago..." She went on to describe how challenging life has been for her as an unexpected single mom, trying to make ends meet.
We talked for the next ten minutes about our lives, and how Spirit moves through them. I told her the dress isn't really a dress; it's Spirit in disguise! And as she also said a blessing for me and left, clutching the dress like a treasure, I felt a circle complete, and a renewed sense of JOY at how simple it can be to care for one another. Before I gave Kathy the dress, I blessed it and thanked Jean for the gift she gave me. Then I passed it on. And we are all the richer for giving and receiving selflessly. Kathy said in wonder, "But you don't even know me!" and I responded, "She didn't know me!" And yet, on another level, we did know one another quite well. We are all sisters under the skin.
Solstice Soul Attunement
Intuitive astrolger Allison Rae serves up a galactic Solstice feast of relevant information. She says this moment is a flashpoint, a portal energetically similar to the combined energies of "the Grand Fixed Cross Solar Eclipse of August 11, 1999, and the Harmonic Concordance of November 8-9, 2003--two pivotal moments in the transformation of consciousness leading to and through 2012. Both accompanied mass spiritual awakenings."
It's well worth reading her entire offering. What spoke most dearly to my heart was her news about the shifting Saturn-Chiron dynamic. Since I was born with Chiron conjunct my Sun, I embody the energy and emotional make-up of this intriguing heavenly body, known to astrologers as the archetypal "wounded healer" and also as the teacher of Aesclepius, the Greek God of medicine and healing. Allison says,
"Saturn represents father, karma, control, responsibility, law, structure, the status quo. Chiron, his son, chose a different path. He is the holistic practitioner, the metaphysician, the visionary, artist and wounded healer.
They have been locked in opposition for the past 19 years, and we've been dealing with issues of authority, conditioning, limitation, personal and cultural wounding throughout this time. We're facing up to our choices, paying off karmic debt, healing the wounds of childhood.
That pattern is about to change.
This is the final direct opposition in this cycle. After the Solstice, Saturn and Chiron will go their separate ways. If we're willing to take responsibility for our choices, freedom from the past is imminent in this release.
On the collective level, the Saturn-Chiron cycle helps raise human consciousness from the level of personal, self-interest to a state of broader, social action infused by an awareness of the indwelling spirit of all creation.
The current cycle began in 1966 and lasts until 2028. Think of the changes in social awareness that happened throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and you'll get a picture of the potential in this passage. Saturn-Chiron deals with important changes in the mentality of the individual in relation to the collective. Social movements arise. Often these shifts are not easy, and occur only after a series of dramatic changes."
I am SO ready for the world to embrace what has always seemed obvious to me! We are all one being, and the healing is to yinify: a word I coined several years ago that means, to enlarge the lens of the feminine in our lives, to turn up the feminine frequency of receptivity, allowing, drawing in. I just had the image of a world hug!
Much love and expansiveness to you this Solstice evening, as the Sun enters Cancer, the most vulnerable, hearth-centered sign of the zodiacal wheel.
Fire and Rain
Sedona is under fire; Houston is under water! Mother Earth is in the midst of a gigantic cleanse, as She (like all of her inhabitants) sheds the old skin in preparation for morphing into a higher level of consciousness.
This is a bit challenging, to say the least, for her various inhabitants. Humans generally appear to have greater difficulty with these transitions than most other life forms—perhaps because we're less mobile, except in an emergency. After the Asian 'quake and tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the other earthquakes, floods and fires that have swept the planet these past few years, we're becoming a lot more adept!
So let us invite Sedona and Houston to exchange energies: the former needs rain, the latter, sunny, dry weather (but not actual fire!) With all of our focused intention (especially tomorrow, on the Solstice, when the Sun stands still and the veils between worlds are thin), we can LOVE these affected areas of our Mother's body back into balance.
Blessed Be!
Soul Retrieval at Solstice
Summer Solstice is this coming Wednesday, June 21, as the Sun enters the water sign of Cancer (Winter Solstice, for our allies in the Southern Hemisphere). There are many ways to celebrate and honor the turning of the Wheel of the Year as it ushers in the season of fire. One that resonates cross-culturally is World Soul Retrieval Day.
This "global expression of shamanic practice and healing" was birthed three summers ago by Frank MacEowen and Timothy O'Donoghue. Tim was shown a vision of the worldwide shamanic community coming together to address our collective state of soul loss. Because the "holes" in our collective soul have been filled by the energy of fear, it's led to ever-greater tears in the human fabric, in the form of wars, ethnic "cleansing", decimation of indigenous lands, and the rise of dis-ease.
Frank, in turn, saw the altars of various shamans, medicine people, and shamanic practitioners all over the world, being activated and "linked up" on a common day to create a "world altar." This world altar, made up of many altars anchored simultaneously in the deep energies and light of primal earth, serve to focus us on not only transforming grief, but also calling toward us a powerful spiritual reality, a shared dream of the future, that he calls "the future Earth-Spirit culture."
So let us cultivate a sense of the sacred deep within ourselves as we re-weave the world, dancing our dream of wholeness and holiness awake. For further suggestions about ways to commemorate this stillpoint, see the article Summer Solstice: An Opportunity to Become More Whole. One of the earliest postings to Healing Headquarters.com, it's been read by more than 500 people in the past year.
A Well-Deserved Rest
An article I had planned to write years ago, before I understood the Journey with a capital J, was, "Learning to Love the Lull." It was about enjoying the "rests" in our daily music, the pauses between activities. At the time, I was thinking only of how I longed for a respite from the 90-miles-an-hour lifestyle I'd created—and then, of course, I received the ultimate time-out, several years' worth and then some. I refer to my personal awakening journey in various places on my website; specifically in Learning to Live My Light.
These days, with the Earth and each of her rays (us) moving into the fifth dimension, we may feel tired, wired, and ready for a healing oasis on a regular basis! I know I certainly do. And The Reconnections say it is most assuredly right that we honor ourselves and our process by taking this time to rejuvenate as we "phase shift" from being fully human to being fully divine.
So be in the Now and allow...and when all else fails (or when nothing seems to be working in your life), yield to the STOP sign from the Multiverse, and wait for new information to pour in.
Blessings on your travels...
One Source, One Symbol
When I lived in a remote mountain cabin in the national forest north of Santa Fe, NM, years ago, sound reverberated delightfully among the majestic trees. I remember how I began singing, "I am One with the All!" while bouncing on my rebounder, feeling my connection to the Universe resonate in my cells.
Now there's a tangible symbol to help us all feel and remember this. I just discovered the Universal Flag site, which dovetails nicely with the World Invocation.
Aligned with our inner vibrations and outer manifestations, it represents the interdependence of all life. It is yours, mine, ours. We are One.
World Invocation Day: June 11, 2006
Every year since 1952, people around the globe have celebrated World Invocation Day, joining in the affirmation of the Oneness of humanity and in the recognition of our collective responsibility for the working out of the Divine Plan on earth. The date of World Invocation Day is determined by the lunar calendar, on which most of the festivals of the major world religions are based. It occurs two months after the Christian Festival of Easter, and one month following the Buddhist Fesitval of Wesak.
Here is a summary of World Invocation Day, according to Lucis Trust:
"World Invocation Day is a world day of prayer and meditation when men and women of every spiritual path join in a universal appeal to divinity and use the Great Invocation. Together they focus the invocative demand of humanity for the light, the love and the spiritual direction needed to build a world of justice, unity and peace.
As we begin the new millennium, we face the fact that materialistic values have led humanity to a state of profound crisis. Our very survival is threatened, not only by militarism, but by our lack of wisdom and will to feed the hungry, to share our plentiful resources, and to solve the many other critical problems that confront the human family.
Yet the solution exists. One of the greatest insights of our time is that of the interdependence and interrelatedness of all life. Today millions of people share the conviction of an inner spiritual unity within humanity which transcends any outer differences of race, nation and creed. As men and women of goodwill the world over give expression to this conviction in their lives, a process of planetary transformation is taking place. A new civilization is emerging which embraces all peoples and is founded upon the recognition of our common humanity and right human relations.
The world’s problems are of humanity’s making and they are for humanity to solve. But the essence of the spiritual life lies in knowing that we are not alone. The energies of divinity are abundantly available and, on World Invocation Day, an appeal is made for the release of the energies that will enable humanity to create the new civilization.
To use the Great Invocation is world service for it speaks directly to world need today. We need light to illumine the way ahead and reveal the vision of a new civilisation; we need love to govern the relationships between people and bring to an end the reign of hatred and separatism; we need the power of the will-to-good to direct human choice and decision-making. The universal use of the Great Invocation on World Invocation Day charges this day with deep spiritual significance, for it builds a channel through which light, love and power can reach and irradiate the hearts and minds of people everywhere."
THE GREAT INVOCATION*
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let light stream forth into human minds
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into human hearts
May the Coming One return to Earth.
From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide all little human wills
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the center which we call the human race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
* In accordance with the changing conciousness and language of humanity as we enter into the Aquarian Age, this “adapted” wording for the Great Invocation is offered in the hope that it will encourage wider distribution of this world prayer.
