Relocating to ... Mars?

Could the Red Planet be our next home? If climate change continues at its present pace on both planets, perhaps.

A pair of geology professors has just discovered that Alaska and Mars share some strikingly similar geological formations, caused in both cases by an astonishing number of snow and ice avalanches — caused, in turn, by temperature changes. Global warming is apparently occurring on both worlds, but since the median temperature on Mars is -81 degrees F., we've got a ways to go before our prospective new habitat will be too hot for humans to handle.

So start packing.

The NOW Ten Commandments

The future's not what it used to be, and thus, a group of metaphysicians has labored for two years to craft a modern version of the Ten Commandments for our times. I find these intriguing: more embracing of the Divinity within all than of a judgmental God "out there". What do you think?

1. THOU ART GOD.
You are the source of your own creation, free to express that as you choose.

2. KNOW THYSELF; UNLEASH THY DIVINITY.
You are the Truth, the Light, the Way. Be the Inspiration and unique expression of your evolving Divinity.

3. RESPECT AND LOVE THYSELF; THY NAME IS SACRED.
Respect and Love yourself. Your name is a vibrational expression of the soul.

4. BE HERE AND CELEBRATE THY DIVINITY NOW.
There is only the present moment; it is the eternal space between "what was" and "what will be". In fully experiencing "the now" you joyfully celebrate what you truly are - a divine being having a glorious human experience.

5. APPRECIATE THY HERITAGE. HONOUR MASCULINITY AND FEMININITY.
Appreciate the richness of where you have come from. The masculine energy initiates and the feminine energy makes possible. Respect and harmonize these energies.

6. THOU ART IMMORTAL; HONOUR ALL LIGHT AND LIFE.
The ever-evolving flow of life is eternal. Respect and honour the magic and mystery in all there is.

7. LOVE THYSELF AND CELEBRATE THY SEXUALITY.
Experience your sexuality freely. It is an expression of self-respect, self-esteem, self-worth, self-love. It is a path to the realization of oneness.

8. THE ONUS OF ABUNDANCE IS UPON THEE; RESPECT THE RIGHT OF CUSTODIANSHIP.
Your attitude towards abundance will determine how abundant you are. Abundance is an integral part of Spirituality. Respect another's belongings through choice. You are responsible and accountable for what you claim.

9. BE TRUE TO WHAT THOU KNOWEST TO BE RIGHT.
Your innate intelligence knows what is right. Have the courage to live your truth.

10. REJOICE IN THY NEIGHBOUR'S SUCCESS. SING THE SONG OF THY HEART. CREATE THE LIFE OF THY DREAMS.
Being joyful for another's success sets them and you free. Singing your song and living the life of your dreams makes things possible for yourself and others.

PROCLAMATION

With wonder, joy and anticipation we embrace opportunities for expressing inspired creativity. From this moment in time we commit to:

Nourish and care for our physical body out of love and respect.
Nurture and care for our earth and all that inhabits it and to allow it to regenerate itself elegantly.
Respect, love and learn from the magic, purity and innocence of children and our child within.
Embrace life with magic from the innocence of the heart and create beauty in all there is.

Lightning Rod for Love

Sunday, July 13, 2008, is Worldwide Prophecy of Love Day. I mentioned this intention in my July newsletter and it's worth repeating here, because Love has such an amazing multiplier effect. This is from Jonathon Goldyn Shalomar:

On Christmas eve I was taking a shower when I suddenly felt a rush of tremendous golden-white Light pour into me. Then, several voices in unison spoke to me saying, "The day of the fulfillment of the prophecy given long ago draws nigh. We would ask you to be the messenger for this day which shall be called the Prophecy of Love day, in your time and calendar July 13th 2008.

"We would ask that for 24 hours on this your day of July 13th, 2008, that people all over your planet would commune at all of the Sacred places upon beloved Gaia and allow the energies of unconditional love to flood every cell, every fiber, and every molecule of their Beings. We will be focusing our collective energies upon each of you as you do this. The frequency of Love that you will feel in your bodies will be more than you have ever felt before because of this collective focus. If you would do this you will literally become Lightning Rods of Love.

"We ask you to hold this energy and not to project it outward. After 24 hours of receiving and Being unconditional love it will become apparent to you that, indeed without projecting, your outer world will have already changed.

"If one million or more of you will answer this call then all of the other prophecies of destruction and doom will be shifted. For it is Love that will bring balance and harmony to your world.

"Focus not upon what you think is wrong in your world, rather focus on the Kingdom of Heaven manifested now within the hearts of all creatures and upon Terra and it will be so.

"If you cannot be at one of the Sacred power points then find the quiet in nature. If this is not possible then be a Loving rod right where you are for your bodily temple is the temple of a Living God.

"On this day a tidal wave of Love will sweep across your planet and all life upon her and the veil of separation shall be lifted and you will know that truly you and the Creator are One.

"Not only are you rendering this great service for your planet, but for all of creation and in this we bow before you in deep gratitude."

Our Planet's Voice

In the July issue of my ezine, What Shines, I discuss whether the Earth is in fact a living, self-regulating organism (the Gaia Hypothesis). Considering she has her own language, the first point seems settled.

Here's what our planet sounds like from space.

ETs, are you listening?

NASA Promotes Astrology!

Well, not exactly, but close: the venerable space exploration organization sent out a bulletin alerting celebrating Americans that on July 4th (Independence Day in the U.S.), the planets Saturn and Mars will align with the crescent Moon. And by July 10th, Saturn and Mars will be kissin' close: as snuggly as they'll be for the next 14 years. Saturn is the planet of form and structure; Mars is fiery action-oriented energy. Does this herald an exciting new direction for us all, held in a more conscious container?

Astrologer Allison Rae has a slightly different take on the celestial connections during this same period: as we enter the "dog days of summer", our Sun aligns with Sirius, the Dog Star, "creating an initiation portal linked to the Great Pyramid at Giza, the Egyptian goddess Isis and the all-seeing, all-knowing Eye of Cosmic Wisdom. The rising of Sirius with the Sun near the Summer Solstice marks the beginning of the Egyptian New Year and heralds the annual flooding of the Nile, replenishing the physical and spiritual fertility of the motherland. The brightest star in our sky, Sirius streams the cosmic frequencies of Love-Wisdom to Earth.

"Freedom and illumination are themes of this celestial gateway. The United States and Canada both celebrate their independence from England under this alignment. Bastille Day, the French Independence Day, is July 14. In an intriguing twist, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was born under this configuration, as was U.S. President George W. Bush (both born on July 6)."

Which just goes to show that there's more to astrology than one's Sun sign. Then again, are H.H. and GWB simply flip sides of the same coin?

The Burning Times

We've entered the season of Fire, and boy, are we feeling it here in northern California, where the 100+ degree temperatures and heat lightning have touched off hundreds of wildfires, many raging unchecked as there are simply not enough firefighters to attend to all the blazes. Smoke diffuses the sunlight; the air hangs heavy and rank, and we are advised to remain indoors with windows shut.

Amusingly, my favorite healthy cereal heralded this conflagration: when I bought a new box of it several days ago, just before the fires broke out, it tasted charred. I returned it for another, and the second box was the same. It seemed the company had burnt the entire batch. Micro-macro; as above, so below. Coincidence? Not really ...

In these times of alchemical transmutation, when everything that no longer serves must burn clean, synchronicity runs as high as ancient emotions, and promises a wealth of new doorways. I decided to type "fireandwater.com" into a search engine, since Fire and Water is the title of several different articles I've penned and a long-running theme in my life, and behold, it's the site for renowned author Paulo Coehlo, who wrote The Alchemist. So far this is the only book of his I've enjoyed, but I've now found a relevant source for summer reading. The Witch of Portobello is a highly intriguing title, especially for these Burning Times ...

Ballooning Into Solstice

Thanks to Canadian muse Eileen Balint for this evocative Summer Solstice poem:

Ballooning Into Solstice

The longest day of the year is dawning
In between dreams ...
I retreat to my humble garden, it's tradition!
Amidst champaign bubbles of fortune teller dew
Magic is afoot ... for those with scrying eyes.

An iridescent lattice of spidery lace
In looking glass style, illumines the landscape
Another reality surfaces ... still under the influence
Of a ripe full moon.

The spiderwebbing decorum, conjures an ‘oily doily’
Of crystalline dragline silk,
Drenched in mother of pearl drops
Spiderlings ballooning all night, into Solstice.

The rhythmic sway of maidenhair fern
In between dreams ...
Succumb to Pan's flutey woodwind
Like garden seaweed floating in an ocean of emerald shade
Bestowing spores of invisibility.

Spiderwort blossoms invoke indigo consciousness
Unravelling yet another matrix, a grid of goodness and grace.
Elders and saints polish their berries and wort
Soon the realm of in-between shall revel once more

I can hear the whales and naiads too!
In solidarity, singing their ancient ancestral songs
A cosmic solstice canon of songlines
Indra's Net is but a dream catcher for those gone fishing.

A midsummer's night encounter awaits you
In between dreams ...
I have a gift for you ... 'tis the ivy crown of Titania, queen of the faery
We shall ready ourselves for
Ballooning into Solstice

Summer Solstice & Last Chance Pluto Dance

We're on the cusp of the longest day/shortest night of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere; the seasons are reversed for our allies Down Under). Everywhere, it seems, we're cooking, both literally in solar heat waves, and metaphysically, as the global mental meltdown accelerates to warp drive, preparing us all for the Shift of the Ages.

Here's an article I published last year that's still relevant:
Summer Solstice: An Opportunity to Become More Whole

This Summer Solstice is also aligned with the full moon, increasing the potency by a factor of 240M (the approximate distance from Earth to Moon in miles; it's 384,000 km).

As for Pluto, astronomers can call the planet of transformation whatever they like, but they can't demote its preternatural power. Pluto danced with our Galactic Center multiple times in 2006-2007. From now through November, we're in the final passage this lifetime, since Pluto's orbit is just under 250 years.

In her e-zine Cosmic Time, astrologer Allison Rae says, "The planet of creative destruction passed back and forth in exact alignment with the black hole at the center of the Milky Way in 2006-2007 before entering Capricorn in January this year to begin wreaking havoc with the structures, systems and institutions of the material world. Now he's moving retrograde into the late degrees of Sagittarius, closely conjunct the Galactic Center, to reconfigure the infrastructure of our minds - our ideals, beliefs, philosophies and faith.

"If you want to have fun with it, let go of what you think you know. Surrender to higher truth. A new life is waiting on the other side of this historic transit. Deep meditation and shamanic journeys are perfect for this communion. Try it before bedtime and notice your dreams.

"It's time for what's been lurking in the individual and collective subconscious to be healed, transformed, reunited with Source. Dancing with Pluto is intense, to say the least. The payoff is deep, lasting change, a new worldview and a new life, as we merge with Essence, the Core."

Obama Lama? New Wisdom for a New Age

It's clear we're living in what the Chinese maxim euphemistically refers to as "interesting times." Legalized gay marriage. An African-American U.S. presidential candidate. Human potential pioneer Louise Hay profiled in The New York Times magazine (albeit with the skeptical, slightly sarcastic tone with which the Times treats subjects outside its normal purview.)

Like the fall of the Berlin Wall or the dissolution of the U.S.S.R. in years past, what's happening now is a herald of human evolution. One reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle even calls Obama a lightworker, in a conversation-provoking piece that expands his role beyond that of mere politician:

Is Obama An Enlightened Being?

Now, lightworkers don't usually appear on the world stage in such a "spiritually demeaning" role as politician, says the article's author. Yet we are living in increasingly intense acceleration as we swoop towards 2012, the Mayan Calendar end date and the moment prophesied in many indigenous cultures as ushering in a Golden Age for the Earth, so it makes sense that our guides would take more drastic measures to facilitate the shift.

Whatever you believe, it makes for healthy pondering. I was a Dennis Kucinich supporter when he was running for president, in both the 2004 election and this one, and would love to see an Obama/Kucinich ticket, personally. Playing with their initials, it sure seems like a win: "OK".

Intensity Rising: Wisdom for Now

Does it feel as though people are in your face and in your space more than ever before? This is part of our melting boundaries as we evolve into Oneness. At the same time, it behooves us to know what's real, what's us, and not to collude with illusion (both of these words mean "in the game").

Aluna Joy offers some highly on-point guidance as we rocket towards a full Solstice Moon:

"This division between the WAS-BEENs and WILL-BEs, the past and our future, is a required step toward the 2012 shift of the ages. We will begin to merge into the collective ONE in the Many'. We will begin to feel less and less boundaries between each other. Any energy that is out of alignment will be more painful, be it coming from ourselves or coming from others. Your neighbor is not your neighbor anymore. He is coming into what was once your private space. You may want to isolate yourself to gain back that space. You may also experience depression and anxiety. These may be symptoms that we will feel just prior to entering oneness. We may feel psychically attacked if the energy we feel is coming from a WAS-BEEN's mentality. The dissolving of boundaries will force us to be more aware of our energy and how we use it. The planetary collective will be gently forced into impeccability and integrity. Darkness and conscious evil intent will be swiftly dealt with."

Peace Through Creativity

I've written about how we can create planetary peace by telling ourselves a new story about the world we've created. Celia Fenn takes this concept a step further by advocating creativity itself as the way through and beyond anger and despair.

In her current Earthlog, she writes, "Peace is not just the absence of conflict ... it is a profound state of consciousness that expresses compassion, love and unity through creativity. In order to move beyond conflict in our lives and globally, we need to enter into this state of creativity, harmony and peace."

What does creative peacemaking look like? Celia quotes Brazilian Jaime Lerner, who speaks about changing cities through stewardship: "When I was governor, we had to clean the bays. In our state we proposed to the fishermen the equation of co-responsibility. We said: 'If you catch the fish, the fish belong to you. If you catch the garbage we are going to pay you. The more you fish garbage, the more money you will have.' The more they cleaned the bay, they more fish they had. That's a win-win solution."

Lerner maintains that global issues such as climate change, food shortages, resource depletion and sustainability are not "terminal"; we must not give up in fear that there's nothing we can do to change what we have created.

The more creative we can be in shifting our perspective on cities themselves, and on the problems that need to be solved, the closer we'll be to a truly new world.

Beyond Visible Light

In order to stretch into the unknown, we must be able to imagine the unimaginable ~ like colors we've never seen. In my June newsletter, What Shines (now available as a trio of pdf eBooks, with a special bonus offer for June!), I wrote that it's "notoriously difficult to explore what we can't conceive, such as colors beyond the visible spectrum."

Yet Santa Fe glass artist Paul White, whose first spoken word was "light", responds that he's already gone there in meditation. So, what do colors we've never seen "look" like? Here's Paul's insight:

"In my mind's eye the colors have been somewhat velvety and more of the feeling of color. I'd say the colors are something like the dichroic glass I work with but deeper somehow. There was always a warmth to them."

According to my computer's dictionary, "dichroic" means "showing different colors when viewed from different directions, or (more generally) having different absorption coefficients for light polarized in different directions."

Intriguingly, I myself had been trying to imagine colors of a, well, different color ~ it had never occurred to me that the color could become multidimensional, changing hue according to perception and direction. This is precisely the kind of quantum leap we need to make as we "excavate the boulders of belief that cloud our consciousness," as I wrote in the newsletter.

Paul, thank you for your prismatic contribution to our collective evolution, refracting clarity!

Collisions of Stars

In my first year of college, a man who lived on my dorm floor (yes, it was a coed floor; rather radical for 1975, quaint today, when some colleges permit opposite gender roommates!) shared a poem he'd written the summer before. It so entranced me that I committed it to memory, and though I have no idea where he is now, I still love the words, which seem applicable to our current state of cosmic chaos.

Gary van Mook, wherever you are, thanks for your creative genius.

Collisions of Stars

Riding my star
To the corners of you
A fusion of warmth
Obliterates pain.

Chasing my dreams
Through the echoes of youth
A chamber of sound
Recalls through the rain.

Walking the road
To the melting of time
A sense of the night
Erases the moon.

Climbing the hill
To the top of the world
Collisions of stars
Will answer me soon.

It's a G.A.S. - G.A.S. - G.A.S.!

The title of this post doesn't refer to the refrain from the Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash," but rather to what we're experiencing now: Global Acceleration Syndrome, nicknamed G.A.S. by Reconnections channel Daniel Jacob.

It's a planetary birth process, something I've been writing about for many years (see my ebook series, What Shines: Practical Wisdom for Unleashing Your Inner Brilliance, a compendium of multidimensional guidance with hands-on application for your life now. There's a special FREE bonus offered with the purchase of books 2 & 3 throughout the month of June!)

G.A.S. Symptom Summary:

∞ Insomnia
∞ Spacey-ness
∞ Joint and muscle aches and pains
∞ Fatigue
∞ Depression and/or anxiety
∞ Allergies and immune system challenges
∞ Short-term memory loss
∞ Unexplained weight gain
∞ Pain at the back of the neck

Some of Daniel's suggestions for managing the shift (with helpful links):

• "It's all PERFECT"
• "It's all ME"
• "It's all REAL"
• "It's all NOW"

And I'd add, "It's all RIGHT!!"

Shine On, Beloveds ...

Full Moon Gift

John Raifsnider's Full Moon Taurus Gift is precisely that: sounding reminiscent of Rumi, he waxes rhapsodic about our celestial invitation to initiation. I like the last lines best:

"The world you held disperses. The thing you wanted reverses. The wall of ‘mine’ and 'yours' evaporates. One Self remains. Gone is the one called 'me.' Present is the One who sees."

Aftershocks

Astrologer Allison Rae offers a particularly lucid explanation of our current energetic flume ride in the latest issue of her newsletter, Cosmic Time. Here's an excerpt:

"Time seems to be speeding up even more than “usual.” Earth changes are on the rise. An ancient volcano explodes in Chile. Myanmar's delta region is decimated by a cyclone. A massive earthquake rocks central China. Killer tornadoes rip through the southern U.S., and a mysterious sinkhole opens in Texas. Food shortages. Rising oil prices. The political scene is transforming before our eyes. World markets are shaky, too, with all this volatility.

We live in times of extreme change, the crease period between world ages. The Earth is shifting. Paradigms are shifting. The transition is in full swing, and accelerating. The Hopi of North America call this the Great Purification. The Mayan calendar links the acceleration to the expansion of consciousness and the cosmos. The energies of back-to-back Scorpio Moons, with Beltane in between, amplify the effects. Everything's in flux. The energies of upheaval and manifestation are equally powerful, accompanied by waves of emotion."

Prepare to be recalibrated! Spend as much time in nature and in sacred, time-out-of-mind space as possible: it's the best action you can take for personal and global healing/evolution.

For China and Myanmar

While we are no strangers to cataclysms during these times, as the entire planet undergoes an extraordinary birth process, still my heart beats a rhythm of recognition for the many souls in the areas hit hard by these Earth changes.

Spare a prayer today for those affected by the cyclone and earthquake in Myanmar and China, respectively. We are all One; they are the rays of Light who have chosen to experience this shift for the rest of us.

Blessed Be.

On Mother's Day, Take a Stand for Peace

On Sunday, May 11th, people all over the globe will stand in silence for 5 minutes as a powerful call for peace. This remarkable event grew out of a book called The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering, which Sharon Mehdi wrote as a gift for her newborn granddaughter.

The book touched a chord with women around the world, and in 2007, the first Standing Women events took place. This year, the gatherings promise to increase exponentially. Check here for a local gathering ~ or create your own!

Read Julia Ward Howe's inspiring Mother's Day proclamation, written in 1870. It's quite a departure from today's Hallmark occasion.

Happy Mother's Day.

May is for Manifesting

Natural time calendar creatrix Li Walter has some wise words about manifestation, which is free-flowing this spring:

"We too often think of manifestation as the end of a cycle, a destination, when more often than not, shortly after reaching the ceiling of one level, we pop through into the muck on the floor of the next level, wondering what happened to our great sense of having reached the heights. Rather than bemoaning our fate or thinking things should somehow be different, use this time to acknowledge and shed what's no longer working in your life. More is possible."

Bear Li's words in mind as we move into the mystical realms, which Patti Cota-Robles says are wide open for humanity's evolution now. But as always, it's up to us to invoke our own growth. Here's an excerpt from her latest transmission:

"Once again we are being called to a higher service. We are being asked by our Father-Mother God, Saint Germain and the entire Company of Heaven if we are willing to put forth the necessary effort to be the heart, head and hands of God in the physical plane of Earth. This is not a monumental task; it is a simple matter of invoking these new frequencies of the Violet Flame and decreeing them into action through our Heart Flames."

In addition, Celia Fenn, who channels Archangel Michael, brings through vital information about the new Grail Codes and how we can integrate the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine in order to fully embrace the Fifth Dimensional energies in a "balanced and creative way."

Beltane: Going A-Maying

Today heralds the official end of winter and advent of summer, in the Northern Hemisphere; for our Southern Hemisphere allies, it's the reverse. Personally, I'm reveling in the return of the Light and warmth! Here's a lovely article detailing the history of Beltane and why this is truly a time to say, "light my fire!"

Thanks to What Shines newsletter subscriber Eileen Balint for this fabulously perfect May Day offering:

The Springtime of Now

Yellow forsythia, periwinkle blue
Almond buds bursting, moist with pink dew.
SPRING shoots forth ... from Eros's quiver
Rushing and gushing like a raging river.
Woodruff nestled in shades of sublime
Beneath cedar and dogwood, blue spruce and pine.
Flaming red cardinals serenade the wild
Feathering their nests with the down of beguiled.
Annuals, complacent, cheery and tame
In bed with bohemian perennials just the same.
Wildflowers don't care where they seed or they grow
In the Garden of Eden, you go with the flow.
The Maypole decked with ribbons and bough
Spirals awareness to the threshold of Now.
"Life is the dancer and I AM the dance"
Spring is the lusty rhythm of romance
Caught off guard in the twilight is Presence,
By the fragrance of Being, we remember our Essence.

Cosmic Conjunction Cafe

Canadian astrologer Tara Greene has a way with words ~ and images ~ that makes her celestial wisdom servings especially tasty. Today's treat is no exception: check out her Big Pizza Pie delight concerning today's Aquarian Moon conjunct Chiron (the archetypal wounded healer) and Neptune, planet of dreams and visions. As an Aquarian born with Chiron conjunct my sun, I can attest to the accuracy of Tara's words; last night's dreamscape was one deep cleaning, contrary, wild ride!

What's Green and Blue and Brown All Over?

We're not quite a week past Earth Day (which is really every day), so take a moment to ponder this primordial quote from renowned sustainable development architect William McDonough:

"Imagine this assignment: 'Design something that makes oxygen, sequesters carbon, fixes nitrogen, distills water, accrues solar energy as fuel, makes complex sugars into food, creates micro-climates, changes colors with the seasons and self-replicates.' Then we go knock that down and write on it."

Looking for Love in All the Right Places

One of the manifestations of now is attracting our perfect partners ~ something some of us (myself included) have been invoking for what feels like aeons. The good news: it's no longer about finding our complementary selves, because we're expressing wholeness to a greater degree than ever before. What a relief!

In her latest alert, Karen Bishop explains:

"We may need to part with some of our brothers and sisters, as we no longer share the same roles or pieces and realities of the new world. Wanting to part as a team effort, supporting each other, and being there for each other [does] not work. When it is time to let go, it is simply time to let go in all ways.

"For many, our new beginnings involve being with the partners and friends of our dreams and our ideal mates. Our ideal companions are just that. Meaning it is not necessary to have a partner who shares our project or our 'work,' and certainly who is not in our space to help us balance our issues. Ideal partners in the higher realms reflect a wonderful companionship, as at this point we are fairly complete and whole all on our own. This is part of the reality of these very new beginnings, which we will indeed experience soon. We are in yet another of the many transitions of the ascension process, and this particular one has many, many facets and phases, as it is so very monumental.

"So here is what is ahead and what we are evolving into as a whole and as individuals, even though you may be tired of hearing it so many times! We have refined ourselves and purified to a great degree, although we still have much more yet to do. This creates a more purified version of who we are. In this way, we then begin to attract other more purified things into our lives which match where we currently are. As things are condensing and refining more and more, the denser energies are also leaving as well, creating much less space in between our connections. Thus, we need to re-align with things that now match where we are. Those we part from will also re-align with things that match where they are as well. All in divine and perfect order."

2 Scorpio Full Moons: Redefine Your Reality

We're approaching a rare and potent transformational gateway: a pair of full moons, both occurring in the sign of Scorpio. The first full moon, on Sunday, April 20th, ushers in both the Jewish holy week of Passover, commemorating the Israelites' liberation from slavery, and Wesak, celebrating the Buddha's birthday and enlightenment. The second full moon occurs Monday, May 19th.

In between, we also celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22nd, and the joyous cross-quarter Celtic holiday Beltane, known secularly as May Day, on May 1st. Beltane marks the mid-point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, and is traditionally a time of renewal, fertility, sensual expression and infinite blessings.

The co-creative energy is exponential now. The first full moon is an ideal time to clear our space, release what needs to die, till the Earth and plant the seeds for what we wish to manifest. During the second Scorpio full moon, we draw our new desire in. It's a magical, miraculous 6-week portal, a shamanic dance of death and rebirth.

Honor yourself and Mama Gaia in this amazing dance. Blessed Be!

Undertow ~ Surfing Life's Ocean Now

Drag. You know the phenomenon. Just when your life seems to be going great ~ bam ~ you're back at one. Why does this happen?

Patricia Cota Robles sent out an advisory that might be likened to a sailor's warning for our sea change in consciousness. She says:

"There is a phenomenon that often causes humanity to feel frustrated and powerless when it comes to changing our lives. That phenomenon is known as reaching critical mass, or the tipping point.

When we awaken, we begin to understand the power of our thoughts and feelings. We realize the importance of monitoring the focus of our attention and of controlling our behavior patterns. As a result of our new insight, we put forth the effort to think positively. We strive to hold our thoughts and feelings on what we want to manifest in our lives, instead of on our fears and the things we do not want in our lives. We envision Heaven on Earth, and we breathe life into our thoughtforms with positive affirmations, meditations, decrees, buoyant joy and heartfelt enthusiasm.

But often, after what seems like a valiant effort, we continue to experience many of the same old problems. This unfortunate situation causes us to become discouraged and to lose faith in our ability to change our lives. At that point, we feel like our efforts are futile. That is when we decide to give up, and we stop trying to make our lives better.

When we let go of our visions and our hope, we regress into our old negative thinking patterns. We start dwelling on our fears, problems and challenges instead of our goals, hopes and dreams. As a result of this tragic relapse, things get worse in our lives and our situations appear even more hopeless."

The solution: marshall all your inner resources to stay focused on the Light!

"There are often no outer-world signs to indicate that we are on the brink of reaching critical mass. In fact, many times it looks like we are very far away from that instant of transformation. The reason for this is we're being given the opportunity to transmute the blocks and resistance to our vision that have surfaced to be cleared out of the way. When this happens, we usually feel a little overwhelmed. We erroneously conclude that our efforts must be failing, and we just give up.

The Beings of Light have said that many times we have been a breath away from reaching a critical mass of our goal. Since we did not realize that, we got discouraged and stopped working toward our life-transforming changes. Consequently, our hopes and dreams were never fulfilled.

Let’s not allow that to happen this time. This is a year of new beginnings, and we have never had the magnitude of assistance from On High that we are receiving in 2008.

So, in very practical terms, critical mass means that when we are striving to create prosperity in our lives, the moment our thoughts, words, actions and feelings are vibrating with a critical mass of prosperity consciousness instead of poverty consciousness, our life circumstances will shift, and we will experience prosperity. The moment a critical mass of our energy is aligned with self-esteem and love, we will magnetize positive relationships into our lives. The moment a critical mass of our energy is aligned with peace, harmony and balance, we will manifest those Divine Qualities tangibly in our life experiences."

Whatever you do, don't give up now. You're sooooo close to the shore!

Conjuring Creative Choice

Just heard on Caroline Casey's provocative, seriously playful, intensely informative radio show on KPFA.org: the Dalai Lama and George Bush share the same birthday (different years), illustrating the different ways the energy can go ... wow ... what possibility to you wish to activate now?

Magical Health

Who says healing has to be long, arduous or painful? That's old paradigm. Health can be easy as breathing.

This article, Imaginary Acupuncture, caught my eye precisely because of the unusual title. So often we feel a symptom of "illness" and immediately make a mental leap to a full-on dis-ease. We certainly know how to "think ourselves sick."

Here's brief training in how to "think yourself well". Why not? We are the ones we've been waiting for. It's time. Go for health, wealth, and wisdom!

Free-Fall Into the Future

From Aluna Joy's current Center of the Sun newsletter, this comforting and wise counsel from mythologist Joseph Campbell, who also invited us to "follow your bliss":

"So yield to what is coming.
We're in a free-fall into the future.
We don’t know where we're going.
Things are changing so fast and always
when you're going through a long tunnel anxiety comes along.
And all you have to do to is transform your hell,
into a paradise,
is to turn your fall
into a voluntary act. It’s a very interesting shift of perspective,
and that's all it is. Joyful participation in the sorrows ~
and everything changes."

His words remind me of when I was entering my own tunnel of descent; I recall saying to someone I was releasing from my life (with whom I reconnected, years later), "I'm in free fall, and I want to be here." I actually saw myself peel my fingers back from the life I'd been holding to so tenaciously, and while part of me (my ego/mind) was terrified, my oversoul watched with abiding peace and overarching Love.

The journey, while arduous, led me to an unimaginable new shore.
Blessed Be.

Weaving the Wisdom

One of the joys of writing my monthly inspirational newsletter, What Shines, is the fabulous feedback from readers, which often expands upon the theme in unexpected and enlightening directions.

The April issue, entitled The Web We Weave, focuses on the spiritual insight I gained from a recent spider bite to my nose, and the meaning of Spider medicine in indigenous and shamanic circles. Canadian subscriber Eileen Balint sent me this e-mail after digesting what I shared. Enjoy her brilliant offering, published here with permission, of course:

The Light Shining Through: On Elections and Evolution

The current issue of Spirit Crossing e-zine contains two deeply insightful articles by experts in their respective fields: astrologer Judy Goldberg and intuitive Penny Peirce.

Judy's piece, Election 2008: The New American Revolution, describes how America's celestial cartography mirrors what takes place in the political and cultural arena, and delineates how the current historic political drama defines who we are now as a country and as a people. A highly practical application of astrological influences to life on earth: "as above, so below."

Penny's piercing article details a vivid dream she had over a decade ago, a classic "Big Dream" that portended our global evolutionary direction. Becoming Transparent: Preparing to Live in the Permanent Present Moment movingly depicts how the more we become "transparent" — detached from ego and personal history — the more light we allow to shine through us, and thus to unify us with the All. Her dream reminds me of several prescient Star Trek TV episodes from many years ago, in which releasing anger and resistance were key to survival. As above, so below.

Enjoy.

Hour of True Power

On March 29th, 26 major cities around the globe will go dark, in a heartwarming initiative designed to raise awareness of global warming.

From San Francisco to Sydney, Dublin to Bangkok, city landmarks will experience a "green out" as they are lit not by neon, but by nature alone. This throwback to yesteryear should be an inspiring sight for us all.

Pluto, Wesak, and Historic Opportunity

Pluto, the Great Transformer, makes its final passage across the Galactic Center, completing the series of historic conjunctions that began in Christmas week, December 2006 (what a week that was for me! My story about living mobilely, The New Nomads, which I'd been trying to write for 3 years, suddenly came gushing forth in 3 hours!).

This final Pluto/Galactic Center tete-a-tete takes place with Pluto in retrograde motion (appearing to travel "backward" from our vantage point on Earth) into Sagittarius, before turning direct and moving into Capricorn for the next 15 years.

Intuitive astrologer Allison Rae, whose latest issue of Cosmic Time is replete with topical information, says, "When the Lord of the Underworld aligns with the massive star- and planet-making black hole at the center of the Milky Way, changes are deep, fast, furious and long-lasting. It may not feel like it, but all Heaven in breaking loose on Earth. During this retrograde phase, we have another chance for Divine Love to emerge as the dark recesses of the individual and collective psyche are purged of illusion - the self-limiting thoughts, beliefs, programs and addictions that have no place in an enlightened future."

We also enjoy two full moons in Scorpio, April 20 and May 19-20, bookends for Wesak, the Buddha's birthday celebration, which this year takes place April 20th. Since Pluto rules Scorpio, this can be an especially rich growth opportunity, notes Rae, a time to "uproot longstanding karmic patterns and accelerate our transformation into self-realized divine beings." It's also an auspicious and potent moment to pray for Tibet liberation at long last.

A Time to Yinify

As Easter and the Equinox are kinned this year, it seems an ideal moment to embrace union and renewal on all levels. I coined the word yinify years ago to mean, bringing more of the Feminine energy and the essence of harmony and balance into ourselves and into the world.

While I've long supported Dennis Kucinich, who embodies yinification to a remarkable degree, with his withdrawal from the U.S. presidential quest I now view Barack Obama as a candidate who, by both his nature and personal history, stands poised to bring a divided country closer to collaboration than ever before. I think it would be absolutely awesome to have these two insightful, impassioned leaders share stewardship of the USA's highest elected office.

Enjoy this impassioned talk:
A More Perfect Union

And read Dennis's visionary speech, Spirit and Stardust, first delivered at the Praxis Peace Conference in Croatia in 2002.

Aries Amplifies: Earth in Rebirth!

Astrologer Allison Rae has a euphonic way with words, especially as Spring bubbles to the fore once again. Here's an excerpt from her current newsletter:

"...a new Light bursts into being with the animated energies of the Aries Equinox and Full Moon this week. We're freshly reconfigured from the powerful February eclipse series, good to go for the next round of evolutionary expansion.

"The Sun enters Aries late Wednesday or early Thursday, depending on your time zone, marking the Vernal Equinox and the beginning of a new astrological year in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, it's Autumn Equinox, a time of harvest and reflection. Day and night are equally balanced. The cardinal, initiating energies of this equinox alignment give the cosmic green light for whatever you've been dreaming of beginning, or becoming. Life on Earth is poised for rebirth. The equinox is followed closely by the Libra/Aries Full Moon, emphasizing themes of balance, harmony and new beginnings.

"The March 19-21 Equinox portal is an auspicious moment in cosmic time. This alignment is filled with magic, mysticism, surprises and connection with other realms as Venus and Mercury join Uranus in transcendent Pisces and the Moon conjuncts Saturn and the fixed star Regulus. A vision for humanity's future takes shape with Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius.

"Our thoughts, words, actions and emotions will be amplified throughout all dimensions during this special gateway. A star is born, the polished crystalline gem you are becoming, shining, brilliant in the awakening sky."

And fellow shapeshifter Lara Shah, an international connector/catalyst with a wild and wacky sense of humor, reminds us to "breathe and laugh a lot. Just laugh yourselves silly. See the divine comedy that is life."

As I say on the Live Your Light home page, "Laughter lights us up. Conscious evolution is purposeful play!" And this, siblings on the journey, is what it means to look on the Light side!

Happy rebirthing...

Total Momsense: Hilarious Maternal Wisdom

The Wealth We've Waited For

It's time for the wise to be wealthy! In her latest transmission, Patti Cota-Robles joyfully announces, "2008 will go down in the annals of history as the Cosmic Moment when Humanity’s descent into poverty consciousness was reversed by the unified efforts of Lightworkers everywhere." Yippee! How ready are we all to welcome the abundance that is our birthright?

Patti reports: "During this momentous time, we will burst the paralyzing grip that our fragmented human consciousness has had on us. This obsolete aspect of our personality has manipulated us for aeons of time into believing that we are only our physical bodies and that the physical plane of Earth is all that exists. This fallen, fear-based level of our consciousness accepts the illusion of lack and limitation. It also believes that it has the right to do whatever is necessary in order to get what it wants, even if it means lying, stealing, cheating or killing. All we have to do is observe the atrocities taking place all over the world to confirm this statement.

"This is a New Day on Planet Earth, however, and we have reached a critical mass of energy, vibration and consciousness that is lifting us into the patterns of perfection for the New Earth. Together, this year, we will cocreate the NEW Archetypes for Humanity’s Abundance and establish a new paradigm on Earth based on the infinite flow of Abundance from our Father-Mother God. Through our unified efforts, our Victory is assured!"

She goes on to explain what I and so many others around the world have been committed to this lifetime: helping to unify our feminine and masculine energies into wholeness, both within ourselves and as a planetary organism. Because as we attain balance and open our hearts to full breadth, peace and prosperity must follow as the natural outcome.

And now we have reached critical mass (or, we might say, an uncritical mass :-) and the process can flower into fullness. This is true abundance: health, wealth and wisdom united, as we come to realize we are never alone, but instead, ALL ONE.

In the Pink with Tink

What Shines/March 2008 is about a Big Tank of Pink Liquid (you'll have to read the newsletter to discover what that means!) and also describes several inter-species instances of predators becoming pals. Loyal reader and contributor Jacqui Hoag just sent another pink moment over the wire: a dachshund fostering a piglet! His name's Pink, a combo of "pig" and "Tink" (the Mama dog). Pink's the cleanest puppy/piglet ever, because Tink licks him all the time.

Hi Tech for Higher Purpose

Since I just referenced the famous Star Trek transporter device in the March issue of my e-zine, What Shines, I was deLighted to find the following article on how so many of the visionary TV show's technological inventions are now in actual existence (or getting there).

I've always thought Star Trek was written by walk-ins (higher dimensional aspects of ourSelves that step into our 3-D bodies, often moving our lives in very different directions. BTW, having a walk-in is a clear soul agreement, so if the information is new to you and scary sounding, fear not: no one can "walk into" your body without your consent!).

So...we've enjoyed our techno-toys, and are now delving more deeply into how we can use technology for the highest good of the planet. Check out these nifty adaptations of brill sci-fi:

Leap Year ~ Not! The Laws of Time

Every four years, we add a day to the calendar to even out Earth's elliptical orbit. It seems a bit grandiose to think that humans are correcting the Creator's error, eh?

From an indigenous perspective, time has an entirely different flow ~ and meaning. Since discovering the Mayan Calendar in 1996, I've learned to live on two levels simultaneously: our 12:60 Gregorian calendar, which measures time in 12-month and 60-minute increments, neither of which is natural and all of which leaves us breathless and starving for peace, and the 13:20 Mayan cycle of 13 Moons and a 20-count unit of measure, which we actually embody (20 fingers and toes). Just holding this both/and has expanded my experience.

With Leap Day tomorrow, and 2012 looming, it's useful to delve more deeply into what, exactly, is going on. I'm going to be writing more about 2012 soon, as lately I've been hearing several young people express fear about what this date portends. But for now, here's some Leap Year clarity with a Mayan Calendar perspective, from timekeeper Aluna Joy.

"The Mayan date system presented in Mayan Astrology skips leap year days altogether in order to stay in sync with galactic cycles. In other words, it literally ignores the Gregorian day, February 29, and continues the sacred count on March 1. This method adjusts for the Gregorian discrepancy every four years by skipping one day every four years.

"The traditional Maya had no problem with the Gregorian calendar, but of course, they didn't use it. This eliminated one problem, yet they still had to make an adjustment of 13 days at the end of a 52-year cycle during their New Fire ceremonies. They kept the sacred count for 52 years, skipped over 13 days or Suns, and then resumed their sacred count in order to stay in sync with galactic cycles. The New Fire ceremonies represent a complete cycle of the Haab (Long Count), the Tzolk'in (260-day sacred cycle), and the Pleiades, coming full circle to their places of origin. The following quote is from Mayan Elder, Hunbatz Men, in his booklet Tzol ek' Mayan Astrology, 'Due to very precise and consistent methods of observation, the Maya came to establish the well-know cycle of the NEW FIRE or TUNBEN K'AK, which is celebrated every 52 years.'

"The big question here is what about those days we just flippantly skip over that were given to us by the Creator, Hunab K'u? Do we just toss them out with the morning trash? The problem we are encountering here is based in our perspective. Through the vision of my buddies, the Cosmic Maya, I was shown some intriguing perspectives or shifts in orientation, helping me see the problem from a different angle or light. You will have to tune in to Spirit and feel for yourself. Remember, proof is in the experience.

"The first and most powerful problem we have is how we approach the sacred calendar. We are approaching it from an Earth perspective that is still not in sync with the galactic whole. Then we try to cram the sacred Tzolk'in cycle into a Gregorian one. This doesn't work without some adjustments, as we all have deduced by now.

"We are emerging out of an age of darkness. We are beginning to remember long-lost truths. We are also stretching toward galactic alignment. This tells us that we are out of sync with the galaxy. Right? Well, if we are out of sync with harmonious galactic cycles, how could we possibly force the sacred Mayan calendar, which is based in the harmonious cycles of the universe, into the framework of the faulty Gregorian calendar without some difficulty? We have been assuming that a sacred day in the Mayan calendar is the exact length of a solar/Earth day. We know it is not. The problem is not with the Mayan calendar, it is not with the Sun, it is with our Earth cycles and our currently used Gregorian calendar. We are trying to link the sacred calendar to the faulty Gregorian based calendar instead of the other way around

"The Cosmic Maya share that our Earth is spinning too fast at this time to synchronize totally with the sacred cycles. They say that the earth is now slowing its spin as they anticipated. (Scientists have confirmed that the earth is indeed slowing its spin) When it slows to the point of harmony and synchronization with the sacred timing cycle (in 2012), Earth will balance its rotational speed and we will align with the galaxy. It is at this time that we will be able to merge and integrate our solar cycles with the sacred cycle."

Anger, Fear and the Age of Ethics

Dear Ones,

Below is possibly the most important post I've ever made in this blog. It's a lengthy communication from Leslie Temple Thurston to her e-list; there is no online link. Please read in its entirety and pass along to all you know; this is crucial information for our individual and collective healing/transformation at this time. I have felt what she describes myself and acted on it, realizing even in the moment how out-of-proportion my anger was. And I have had two people erupt on me in like manner.

Awareness in awakening makes all the difference.

Blessings and Light,
Amara

Dear Everyone,

I am writing to share something with you that I see happening energetically to some of us right now, and I suspect, soon to be all of us. It looks and feels very weird and unusual. This "happening" feels like an exceptionally strong vibration passing through the physical and subtle body, at the level of the solar plexus, night and day. It feels either like your solar plexus has been "hollowed out" and you may feel hungry – or it can turn into a strong vibration of fear and/or anger in a split second depending on some sort of stimulation. And it just sits in the solar plexus, seemingly for no apparent reason. Quite a few people I have spoken to are feeling this as well.

After many, mostly sleepless nights, of being threatened repeatedly by what seem to be occult forces trying to pull me out of my heart, and into the experience of this overwhelming energy/vibration of fear or anger, I have begun to understand a little of what its purpose is. In the past month it has been running relentlessly through my body day and night, without me knowing exactly what it is. I have begun to see that this is some sort of set up, or process which we all need to understand. Finally, its source and purpose seem a little clearer, and I wanted immediately to let you know what I suspect it to be, so that you don't fall into the trap of projecting it out or making it personal. Let me explain.

These feelings/vibrations of anger/fear feel awful in the body, and it is so easy to project them on to some situation that might be happening in your life that is difficult — don't be tempted to do that. Doing that would blow any situation out of all proportion and push you into the realms of delusion and deep trouble. You could suddenly find yourself in a battle with someone where the issues are hugely magnified and seem completely insoluble.

The whole energy configuration is at best a process, and needs to be looked at in that light. Don't take its surface appearance too seriously. It is an illusion. An illusion of the times we are in, those of the 5th night of the Galactic Underworld, and it is being exacerbated by the current astrology — that of Mars' opposition to Pluto.

This configuration of Mars/Pluto has been happening for awhile, since the late fall, and is building towards a climax that will take place between now and early to mid-March. Be aware that this is very extreme astrology, and is hitting everyone at the level of their deepest shadow and deepest wounding. So, you definitely have some deep processing to do during this time, but once again a reminder to be most careful not to project that these feelings are real or are the result of some situation in your life that is difficult, because it will have the effect of making everything worse and cause you to lose the connection to your heart.

In the past few days I have spoken with several people and from sharing with them what I have been feeling and seeing, we have mutually established that we are all feeling the same thing — this intense flow of a fear/anger vibration ripping through the body night and day. It is so unpleasant and distracting, keeping you awake at night especially. For some people it only happens in waves, for some it is there all the time. It appears to take your life force, is very debilitating on the nervous system and can leave you exhausted.

When I first felt it, I fell into the trap of associating it as being the consequence of a difficult process that is happening in my life. Yesterday, I recognized that it was not necessarily directly connected to that situation, but that, as a projection, it was making the situation appear worse than it actually is.

And then I began to look elsewhere for an explanation of the bodily sensation of fear/anger. I asked Archangel Michael for help and this led me into doing some deep processing of early childhood trauma, which led into a samsara, which begun back at the time of the ancient collective wounding associated with "The Fall" of the Neolithic civilization, and the disaster programming associated with that time — the beginning of patriarchy. It worked out so wonderfully when I did that and there was a huge release! Since according to the Mayan Calendar we are at the end of Patriarchy, it stands to reason that we are clearing the beginning of it. Also, according to the Mayan Calendar we are at the beginning of the "Age of Ethics."

So with that clearing, what had been feeling like "the fear of being attacked suddenly, unexpectedly and opportunistically" came up as nothing but a samsaric process, even though it was being mirrored in my life as something "real". It had the feeling of anarchy that brought up the fear. This fear is our deepest wounding as a human collective right now. I allowed myself to go into it and enter deeply into the feelings (which took awhile) and in the end it was relatively painless and easy to let it go. I found that it could be released along with the early childhood trauma of being abandoned and rejected at birth in this life, which was the shadow of that "Fall" time being repeated in probably each and every life I/we have had since then. A very big clearing happened, and the bodily feelings of fear/anger went away.

Now, sitting here at 2:00 am, writing since I woke up, the feeling is slightly present again, but I am seeing it now in a different light, at a different level, as a fear of dissolution, of the ego's journey of coming unglued, and of ultimately, a letting go of the ego — whereas before, yesterday, it had been discerned as a fear of loss, scarcity or destruction and death — in other words it took me all the way down the downward spiral, and then became what I perceive to be our final step, the surrender of ego.

Having processed my way through many squares over the past couple of weeks, as I tried to understand what this energy was about, squares mostly around a kind of irrational, anarchistic and chaotic quality I was experiencing that was associated with the process, it has cleared enough to where all I am now left with is a vague feeling of discomfort in the solar plexus area around the idea of loss, moving into a feeling which I perceive to be a fear of coming unglued or of egoic dissolution. It feels like death but I see it is ego death.

In other words this very intense bodily feeling that was being interpreted as fear or anger, (they are very akin to each other, the same vibration actually, as it is experienced by the tyrant [anger] or the victim, [fear]) and which felt very threatening, has morphed into not much of a reaction at all, except to notice its faint presence in the body — and it is not scary anymore. I will process "fear of dissolution" but it does not have the huge "charge" it had anymore and I am no longer being fooled into thinking it is necessarily associated with the difficult situation in my life. I believe it is a collective process, although I have been working it as though it was personal, since making it subjective has given me a very deep connection to what is happening and has helped in understanding it—at this very important time in our/humanity's evolution.

Why are we feeling this "stuff" and where is it coming from? I believe it is coming from the Pluto/Mars opposition, the issue of us being in the "5th night" and other astrological "complications".

The main thing I really want to warn you about IS TO NOT PROJECT IT OUT ONTO SOME SITUATION IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU CAN BE DELUDED INTO MAKING "REAL" AND/OR THAT MIGHT LOOK SCARY OR DIFFICULT. It could complicate that situation hugely, and besides, what we are being tempted into here, IS A HUGE TRAP.

Spirit had created a couple of scenarios for me that were proving difficult, and which suddenly became overblown and "hugely scary" and would not resolve, as this energy was overlaid on to them. And I soon saw that the temptation was to associate the bodily feelings of fear/anger with the processes that were trying to resolve on the outside. It was necessary to separate the inner states from the situations outside. They were not connected.

My concern, and it is a very real concern, is that ordinary people who have a tendency to project their feelings onto the outside, will feel these feelings/vibrations of fear/anger and look around in their life to see where the feelings may be coming from, and what is "wrong" in their lives. Then they will project these feelings onto any outer situation that seems problematic, thus blowing the situation out of proportion and distorting the process. I am seeing that this energy could lead to disputes being exaggerated hugely.

This is a scenario where fighting or wars could break out in the coming weeks. It could lead the world into some sort of disaster. We are entering a dangerous time in fact. The energy could create dire consequences (such as the man who "went postal" on Valentine's Day in Illinois, and opened fire on a group of people, killing 7 and wounding 18), but on a much grander scale.

Fear and anger take us out of our hearts and cut us off from our divine connection. And so in situations such as this energy unfolding itself into the world right now, people become very vulnerable and susceptible and can find themselves in very dangerous situations where they are without the ability to access their hearts. It is always our heart which guides us along the proper course of action, helping us keep our proper alignment during difficult times, and when we lose connection to it, we become vulnerable to occult and opportunistic forces that can manipulate us into creating bad karma for ourselves.

I see that the big picture here is that the process has been set up by spirit to help us shift and leave third chakra selfishness/patriarchy with its tyrant/victim configuration, to move into heart-centered life in a higher dimension. This is the ultimate issue/process of our present times as you all know—the one on which the fate of the world hangs. I have written about how this year is perhaps the most major time for global transformation that we have ever experienced.

So I see this current set-up as a test that we are being taken through right now. And the choices are being dangled in front of us like a great, ripe, tempting apple — fall again or ascend.

We, as impeccable and responsible people who can see more deeply into the truth of what is unfolding here, can provide a service to the world by seeing this energy for what it is — that it is nothing but a process — and address it accordingly. By doing the process fully and clearly, we can help stabilize the world by holding The Middle Way and not falling into the trap of making any of what is passing through us, real.

But by using the potential that these strange, intense feelings of fear and anger (and hate actually) offer us, we can look deeply into ourselves and clear out very old samsara — to the benefit of all.

Making the right choice now is the window of opportunity that will benefit us individually during these dark times, if we can take it and respond to the situation from the proper place of detachment.

Love,
Leslie

P.S. – An important addendum that I just received from Bella Cloude follows:

There are significant implications to the lunar eclipse full moon that occurs on February 20th. This bridge between the February 6th new moon in Aquarius solar eclipse, and the coming full moon Lunar eclipse — sun in Pisces moon in Virgo, will determine the course of many events, I believe. The Piscean - Aquarian transition time is reflected in this moon cycle. Neptune and Chiron are in Aquarius — our etheric body (Neptune) along with the wounded healer (Chiron).

Now we are entering in the vortex of the lunar eclipse — Saturn in Virgo (our karma teachings) conjunct the full moon in Virgo. Remember Karma is not only cause and effect but also effect and cause, so we are cautioned not to dwell on the effects of Karma — only to let it clear.

See You on the Dark Side of the Moon

This week heralds the second of two eclipses this month/moon cycle, and I love how seasoned astrologer Allison Rae frames the possibilities. This is from the current issue of her newsletter, Cosmic Time:

"The Total Lunar Eclipse this week promises a consciousness shakedown.

During the Full Moon on Wednesday night, the reflected light of the Sun will be blocked by the Earth, creating the illusion of the Moon darkening' as it turns a deep red-brown.

The play of 'light' and 'dark' is highlighted at each Full Moon. With a Total Lunar Eclipse the effect goes quantum. The cosmic energies transmitted through this portal offer a unique opportunity to see another side of your self, embrace and transform the shadow.

Emotional cleansing triggered by the eclipse can bring balance and restore the self to wholeness. Flow with this energy rather than resist it. Explore the subconscious. Dance with the shadow. Merge with Essence. Let go.

We're dealing with the individual and collective shadow, as world events reveal. Our prayer, intent and conscious participation in this divine drama create an opening for the light of higher consciousness to heal and transform humanity and the Earth.

A new paradigm is emerging. You can help guide this transition through your own practice of mindfulness throughout the eclipse period, and beyond."

What Do You Do When A Health Food Salesman Comes to Call?

...Go ahead and vitamin!

This riddle, which was on a greeting card I sent to a friend years ago when she managed the vitamin department of a health food store, might serve as the anthem for now, when a lighthearted, slightly quirky, Aquarian approach will serve us better than any linear, mental reckoning.

We are greenlighting possibility and opportunity. On Caroline Casey's always irreverent, cosmic radio show (archived online), she mentioned that this Chinese Year of the Rat equates to the Hindu deity Ganesh, a well-loved, elephant-headed icon known as The Remover of Obstacles. May it be so!

And along this same reframe, I love what the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who just left the physical plane on February 5th at age 91, had to say about money. According to Deepak Chopra, one day Maharishi and his close advisors were discussing a very expensive venture. "But where is the money going to come from?" asked one, a bit concerned.

"From wherever it is right now," was the Maharishi's cheerful reply.

Ashé! And so it is!

Wisdom from Feathers and Fur

I've known of cats and dogs that lived harmoniously together, but the idea of a bird caring for a kitten seemed like a stretch, until I saw this video:

The Crow and the Kitten

What might the animal "kindom" (send the "g", for galactic, out to our Mother, the Milky Way, and we're all kin!) teach us about being our brother's and sister's keeper?

200∞ is a galactic year...let's reach out to yinify ~ my term for uniting in the feminine essence of acceptance and collaboration with and for all.

This beautiful message is on the back of a "Frog" birthday card sent by my super-supportive cyber friend Jacqui de Maya, who also forwarded the above video link:

"If you talk to the animals
They will talk to you
And you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them,
You will not know them.
And what you do not know
You will fear.
What one fears one destroys."

"Across the Universe" Beamed to Polaris!

Fittingly for an Aquarian whose has always felt like a starseed from a distant galaxy, I was excited to learn that on February 4, 2008 (my birthday), NASA will beam the Beatles' tune "Across The Universe" to Polaris, also known as the North Star, 431 light years away.

This is being done to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song, the 45th anniversary of the Deep Space Network, and the 50th anniversary of NASA. The idea was hatched by Beatles' historian Martin Lewis, who encourages all Beatles fans to play the track as it's being beamed to the distant star at 7 pm EST in the US.

From now on, 2/4/08 will be known as "Across the Universe Day". The event marks the first time a radio song has been beamed into deep space, and was approved by Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, and Apple Records.

Cool, huh?
